M240i cruise control retrofit errors

Bit of a strange one; installed cruise control buttons on a 2019 M240i which went fine, coded it using esys which it accepted without errors, but the steering wheel buttons still think they're the LIM buttons and don't work for cruise. I retraced my steps when coding, but to no avail.
The coding went fine, no errors whatsoever, and I'm using the latest coding data. Option 544 shows up in the Vehicle Order, so no issues there.
I've done 10-or-so retrofits so far, and the only issue I've come across so far was CAFD errors because my data wasn't new enough for the car I was working on - but that wasn't today's problem.
Anyone come across this, and how did you fix it?

Hi.

Just wondering if you managed to find out what the issue was?

I'll be starting the retrofit on my own 2018 M240i and a bit concerned I might encounter similar issues!

Many thanks!

Hi, I discovered the switches I had were the wrong ones. For the newer style M Sport wheel (with the round airbag) the switches are 7849411. The ones I had were some random part number not recognised by the car. Even though they looked right, they wouldn't work.
So, get the right part number (as above) and make sure your eSys data is newer than the car you're coding!

Thanks a million for the reply and the advice!

Got myself the right part number and coded using E-Sys with the help of some great online guides.

My car now has fully functioning Cruise Control with brake function. Happy days.

Hi. I am about to do this retrofit to my 2018 M240i. But I don't have option 544 from what it looks like on a vin check. Will this be possible on my car (if I update the button to the 7849411 part)?
Thanks!

Ignore me, I realise now that 544 is the code for eSys.
