Rain Damage on Interior Plastic?

I have noticed whitish spots appearing on the driver's seat latch when it rains. It must be from rain coming in while the door is open, but the car was pre-owned and had no spots before. No spots on passenger side. Any ideas on how to get these off?

Id try car wax. Make sure its not a liquid or paste that states must be kept off of rubber and or plastic. Use a microfiber towel - that will work better on the texture then a sponge or cotton rag.

There are plastic trim treatments but I think we really want to clean and remove whatever is causing the spots.

Looks like mineral deposits. Have you tried CLR or vinegar?
