18x9??

Hi all,

I browse the forum a lot but dont post a lot. I apologize if this has been brought up before but I could not find anything in the search. Can a stock 228i fit 18x9 or 18x9.5 (with spacers) wheels? if so, what is the max tire size I can run?

Also alternatively, what is the max tire size I can comfortably run on the stock M-staggered setup? Thanks in advance!

On stock staggered rims? 225/40 and 245/35 or (possible but outside tire manufacturers guidelines) 235/40 front and 255/35 back

thanks both for your responses.

the 228i and m240 should have the same wheel configuration though right? (as in if it fits in a m240, it should fit in a 228i?)

also, thoughts on putting a 275/35 on the rear with 18x9.5 wheels?

You'll rub. 265s on an 9.5J et50-53 rim are the max you can run in the rear due to the narrow fender and gas filler neck. You could go wider with cut and flared fenders and relocating the fuel cap and neck (like the m235iR and m240iR racecars) but that's a lot of work for just another 10mm.
