Late to this conversation... Obviously the mid-pipe will work on the convertible, but did the dealer indicate if the muffler would? Can't seem to get a clear answer on where the bracing on the convertible is different from the coupe, and causes incompatibility with aftermarket systems.

Definitely. No video does it justice. I'm going to make a video with my Sony a6000 to hopefully capture it better.
I have the same camera! Great camera!

also looking to install the dinan exhaust/midpipe on my 2019 m240i..

does anyone know if it will fit correctly with the m performance diffuser? im worried the tips might be too short for a proper look. if they are too short, are there any mods i can do to extend the tips?

Now when I accelerate onto the Bay Bridge it's so darn quiet I look down and am like, crap I really shouldn't be going 85 past, I had no idea I was going that fast. And I don't think a traffic court judge is gonna use "my car was too quiet" as an excuse. So really, it's a safety feature - installing a better auditory feedback system to avoid excessive speed.
If you want more volume and character, w/o being boy racer obnoxious, then just get the Dinan mid-pipe (or dual resonator delete) and keep the stock muffler. That's what I did and I'm very happy with it.
I only had one resonator on my m235. am i missing one? also, my pipe diameter is 3 inches already. are you guys saying the dinan midpipe is wider than 3"?

The M240i has 2 resonators. The OE pipe is flat in some sections. The Dinan pipe is round the full length.

Tried swapping out to the DINAN midpipe on my 230i but turns out the mounting is different after the cat... really bummed. Anyone have experience with muffler shops doing custom work? Curious how expensive it would be to add the required hanger pin in place of the support bracket for the nut and threaded rod

What year M240i Convertible was fitted with the new mid-pipe?

Which dealer did the work. I'd like to bring my 2020 convertible to have this done as Dinan says it hasn't test fit a 2020 convertible but their were issues with older models.

Thank you,

Mike

whatever you do, don't go stock muffler + dinan midpipe and a catless downpipe. i immediately put the stock resonated pipes back and kept the catless downpipe in. sounds absolutely amazing now, its quiet in idle but WOT it sounds so damn good.

but yeah dinan midpipe and catless dp together sounded like absolute shit. stay clear of that

I have a CG precision DS-1 downpipe, Dinan midpipe and stock exhaust and freaking love it. Maybe it's because there is still a 200cel cat in there but no complaints here. Planning on doing the Dinan exhaust at some point.

Ps: if your bothered by cold start you can code it out.

I installed the DINAN midpipe along with the DINAN freeflow exhaust on my 230i a few weeks back. Sounds amazing. I'll have to try and get a video soon

So I just had the Dinan free flow exhaust installed on my M240 xDrive, I also have the Dinan mid-pipe. I'm a little disappointed to say the least, I feel like I could hear more rumbles and pops with the stock exhaust and Mid-Pipe.

I haven't driven much, maybe 50kms since installing the free flow exhaust. I'm hoping it will get louder as I drive more.

With 50km on it you probably haven't even popped the bags yet. Give it some time. Drive spiritedly in sport/sport+ for a half hour or so and get the exhaust nice and hot to get the bags out of the equation and it will start to be more akin to what it should sound like. The biggest change with the Dinan exhaust versus the stock exhaust though is in the tone -- Dinan exhaust is markedly deeper.

So 5 months into having my Dinan Exhust + Dinan Mid-pipe, and it's just perfect. Perfect in comfort and sounds amazing in Sport, Sport +

This is a video I put together testing out the sound quality of my gopro hero 8 with and without the case on. Figured I would post it here if anyone wanted another sample of what the dinan midpipe+axle back sounds like.
