Not yet, haven't started that project as of yet. But there is a thread in here somewhere sharing the required BMW Part #'s if you're interested?

That was some article on an enthusiast website that said that. I think it was a misconstrued statement. BMW stated the transmission is fitted with a dry-sump-like setup... not the engine. It's not even clear what transmission BMW was even referencing when they said that because the 1M gets fitted with a standard GS6-45bz 6MT. Maybe "dry-sump" jsut refers to how the 6MT gears sit in a small pool of oil and self-lubricate. Maybe it has to do with the DCT setup? 1M is fitted with a standard N54 engine that does not have any special oiling provisions (it was never outfitted for performance by the M division). Same pan and pickup as the standard N55. Only the M235iR homologated race engine got the M2/M3/M4 oiling system.

Here you go bud.

You will need following parts:

01 Suction pump 1 11417846385
02 Drive Shaft 1 11417848466
05 Cover lid FOR RETURN LINE 1 11418335879

01 Oil pump 1 11418011851
02 Suction pipe 1 11417846384

01 Oil Pan 1 11137854463

You can buy used oil pan, suction pump and oil pump from an M3/M4. Also you need the N55 cover lid FOR RETURN LINE that you can order from the dealer. That part is used on M235iR race car. All of those listed parts are exactly the same as M235/40iR cup (n55), no modifications necessary.

Happy "sucking"

I searched around to see if there was anything that bolted up to the M240/B58. Anyone know of anything?

Anyone know if these M2 parts will retrofit back to an e82 N55? Wondering if front subframe clearance will be an issue, etc? I'm in the broken N55 club as well... want to rebuild it right or put in a used motor and sell it and put the money into an M2.

Hi

Really a shame that there is not more DATA to support this topic when it is readily available to log from the N55...

Anywho...went to the track on Cup2s today as saw pressure dropping to 22psi during straight line braking!!! I have done quite a few trackdays before but never really concerned me about oil pressure. I do now! I'll definitely be looking into the M2/3/4 oil pump swap before I kill the engine.

Car: M135i, Michelin Cup2, 225/245 section, factory suspension

Oil level after the trackday...

Are you able to log oil pressure next time you go to the track. Having clear evidence that this works would be nice before I jump in

I put thousands of laps on this car so far after M4 oil pump upgrade. I dove with oil pressure monitor and didn't notice no pressure droppings no matter how you drive.

Fantastic to see someone else relying on data instead of feel and assumption

I saw similar low oil pressure yesterday during straight line braking at the track. Engine was at medium oil level so this is frightening......IF it is even a problem?

Today on the street after getting a little bit of heat in the Cup2s I could also provoke ~25psi from hard braking. I added 0.5 liter - and again ~25psi... The stupid iDrive measured no difference in oil level after the first 0.5 so I added another 0.5. Guess what? I can still provoke low oil pressure Seems for me it is just the braking part, no need to add lateral force. Oh, and I have NO CLUE how much oil is in the engine really

Where are you now with your car? What route did you take?

I just got second hand prices for the parts... 1823USD - FUCK ME! Cheaper than changing an engine though.

You are CNM? Seems like you're also posting in my thread on the other forum? I installed an Accusump. I don't ever see dips below around 50psi. 3qt Accuusmp has the capacity to supplement oil pressure and keep it above 60psi for a few seconds.

It has been 2 seasons with the rebuilt engine. After this summer I'll probably do my rod bearings. I am sure they are still seeing wear and I'd rather do the job as insurance than spin a bearing. It's a relatively cheap job to diy just takes a lot of labor. Other than that, not much else I plan to do.

Having my indy shop take a look at retrofitting the M2/3/4 pump. They are comfortable with the swap, only thing they cautioned on is the car throwing a code. Anyone who has done the retrofit seen an issue?

Wish I would have saw this a while ago.... my engine seized for the same reason. No warning. It's going in for its final diagnosis this week but the engine won't hand crank. RIP

Track data oil press vs accel vector

Does anyone have accel vector data vs oil pressure on track for stock set up vs. M2/M4 oil pan modification? Interested in seeing when oil pressure drops (decelerations vs cornering) and for how long. Description of car set up would be helpful also. Thank you in advance.
