Instructions manual?! All i got was a receipt haha.....i think i located the PDF manual online. But it looks pretty straight forward. I just found another thread from a user that didn't use either as well, so good stuff.

Can't wait to install it as well as Carbon Fiber Wing this weekend. The rear end of our cars is just too "plain" without them.

Did you get these, if so where do they go?

Just wanted to reemphasize the clips...fuck those clips. Didn't realize those brackets actually installed, I assumed they were for another model or something less likely. Now I gotta install the brackets.

Installed my diffuser today.. It took all of 25 minutes to uninstall the old diffuser and replace with the new m performance diffuser. Not bad for a girl :thump:

I notice you say when you fit diffuser you need A LOT of force, i have done this fit and posted a guide up, you actually dont need hardly any force, if done right you can gently pushed in with one finger each clip of diffuser. The reason your having to use so much force is your not supporting the skin of the bumper from behind...place something behind the skin, be it a towel or a cork block (i used this) then the skin does not push back as you push diffuser inwards, few members have used my tip and also found a light gentle push gets the clips in.. hope this helps others

Sorry I'm being lame on this...but I've not see the diffuser off car, so I dont know what the clips look like, or where I should be pushing. I just know I have a gap.
see my post above... you hardly need any force to push clips on if using my method. one finger push does it

Is the diffuser shiny material like the standard OEM rear panel or is it a different color/texture/sheen?

I have an M Perf. diffuser coming soon but plan on keeping stock exhaust.

If I buy the M Perf tips, will I still need to cut? I'm trying to avoid cutting if at all possible as I'm on a lease and would like to resell everything once it's up.

Its a matte black with a smooth, but not clear coat smooth texture.. It comes unpainted, but many leave it that way (and it is fine to).

My car has it on as it comes from BMW:

I know I'm late to this party... is the m performance exhaust standard on M235 models? Is there a way to see if mine has it?

No it is not standard. If you have chrome or carbon fiber tips, then you probably have it.

I am installing Performance exhaust tomorrow; so you will see why you will need the adapters if you do not have M Performance exhaust.

----
Tools needed:
  • 8mm socket with extension
  • Flathead screw driver or expanding rivet clip remover
  • Patiences
----
Difficulty 1-5 (5 being hardest): 2

----

Start by painting, or leaving your diffuser primed. I chose to paint my diffuser and than keep the center gloss black.

You can do this on the ground with no hoists if you have not lowered your car yet. Go underneath the vehicle and removing the six 8mm bolts. They have speed nuts on the exhaust shield.

Remove the expanding pin on both sides of the diffuser. They are right behind the 8mm. You will use a flat head screw driver here to pull these out.

Start by slowly pulling way on a corner you will hear the clips start to come loose from the bumper.

Installing the new bumper was a little tricky with the clips. They are extremely tight and require A LOT of force. I'm not exaggerating when I say a lot. I had to put all of my 180LBS into each clip right underneath with WD40 on top of the clip. Do not be surprised if you have to spend upwards of a minute pushing on some of the center clips. This photo shows the clips not all the way in.

Here is a photo after really pressing on the diffuser to get those clips in. Was rather painful!
How did you specify to your installer you wanted the diffuser painted that way? I want to do the same, body color for most and then the plain plastic in the middle portion. I am concerned if I ask for body color they will just paint the whole thing...
