Yup, it's potholes which damage them. They are so stuff that once you hit anything, there's no give in the tire so the sidewall ends up giving. Ask me how I know lol

I have had 2 Minis and 3 BMWs with OEM RF tires. All were off the cars within 5K miles of delivery.

The only car I put them back on is my wife's 335i (my former car) because I don't want her to get caught with a blowout and not know what to do since there is no spare on board.

IMHO, they are horrible in every sense of the word.

Garage List
Same thing happened to my OEM Pirelli's, busted sidewall after 4 months, they are garbage. I switched to Michellin PSS and they're way better.

Just want to give a quick update. I drove carefully to a Pirelli dealer in Astoria. They switched out my two front runflats for two brand new ones. Total cost? $5 and tip to the installer. So pirelli warranty does indeed work on new vehicles. PM me if you want the business name as i do not know if it is against the rules to post the name.

It is time for an investigation and a class action lawsuit. The tires are a danger!

LOL good luck with that! The tires aren't dangerous, they're stiff for a reason; so you can still drive on them once you get a flat. And because the sidewall is so stiff, once you hit a pothole hard enough, there's nowhere for the air to move to so it goes outward. The tire did what it was designed to do and that is to get you 50 miles max to the nearest tire shop for replacement. Even if you get a nail in your tire it is not recommended to patch up although I have in the past. Bottom line is ditch the RFT's ASAP!

PS: large class action lawsuits only benefit the lawyers. When/if settlement is reached, there's so many people involved that X amount of money is divided up between thousands or even millions of people and usually equals to a few bucks each.
