I got to agree with what you've said. I've also zero'd out my treble and have bass set to +6. lol

Also, out of all the tunes I've tried, the Nelson F30 has the best bass response.

I've also made a hybrid tune based of Nelson's F30 and some adjustments recommended by BavSound. I'll upload it when I get off work. If you want, you can try it and let me know what you think.

Sure, I'd like to try it out. Post it when you get a chance.

Nelson just sent me the new F22 HK tune and it sounds fabulous. I'm loving it. Nelson@BimmerTech Thank you!

Awesome! Did you have to make adjustments to the sub channel since you have the Ghosts or were the settings in the tune adequate as is?

Expecting my ghost subs shortly. Still a bit on the cold side for the installation, so probably another 3 weeks yet. Looking forward to getting them installed.

Just do it.

It literally takes less than 5 minutes per a side to remove and install. The other couple of minutes it takes to swap housings, you can do inside.

I thought they sounded great, but Nelson sent me some extra parameters to help maximize them. About to test those out soon.

It's not the time but the temp! It's a little on the cold side BUT, it's supposed to be around 47f on the weekend so will likely do it then.

So I tried this new tune. It definitely opens up the sound and fills it out more. However, Nelson is right, it is very harsh due to the pronounced highs. It also sounds a bit "boxy" and mid heavy. The previous tune I used from Nelson (F30) was warmer but not as full. Too bad we couldn't find a way to get that fullness and warmth in one tune. The search continues...

Weather finally warmed up nicely and installed my subs today. Followed the instructions provided by others on the forum as well as the excellent vids from Bavsound's YouTube channel.

I took my time and it took me just under an hour. Do yourself a favor and actually remove the seat entirely from the car. I found it much easier to maneuver w/o the seat. The free toolkit from Bavsound was greatly appreciated, although I did have to buy a T50 bit. I didn't have that specific size in my toolbox.

In any case, despite the price (for Canadians), I think it was a worthwhile investment (OEM amp & door speakers remain). I'm not an audiophile by any stretch, but played a track before replacing, then same track afterward and there's definitely an improvement i.e. less muffled or muddy, and crisper, fuller, rich sounding.

Do you have the hi-fi or HK option?

Did you get any error codes when disconnecting the seat? Has anyone cut the excess carpet away when doing their sub install?

No errors on mine. I didn't have to cut any of the carpet, just pulled it out and moved it aside, then pushed all back in. Wouldn't even know I'd been working under the seat!

To avoid errors, you need to disconnect battery if you want pull out your front seats (Airbag). So, it's easier with the seats in the car. Only need a torx 45.

I had to cut the carpet on the side of the car but my subs were not plug and play, they needed one inch (25mm) Spacers to fit enclosures.

With Bavsound, Focal, Earthquake etc, no need to cut.

I just unbolted the seat and leaned it back. Plenty of space, and no cutting required.

I just leaned my seats back too when I did my Bavsound subs. There was a bit of extra carpet that hung over the speaker cone, which Bavsound recommended be cut away. However, I chose to not cut it and leave it there.

Maybe this is a stupid question but I just want to be clear before I make a purchase. The Match pp82dsp amp on crutchfields website is the same exact as bimmertechs amp? It's sold for $100 less on crutchfield. That would be my obvious choice unless there is a specific reason why I would need the bimmertech for my 328i f30?

Is not and our amp comes with the pnp harness and bracket.

On my Hi-Fi version I tried turning on 2 and 4 and to me it sounded somewhat flat. So I took everything apart again lol, and turn on the settings one-by-one. For some reason, 5 muted everything. Anyway, I ended up turning on 1, 2, 3, and 4, leaving 5 and 6 off. Not sure what all these DIP settings do, but this sounds better to me.

Does anyone know what switch 1 and 3 do?

Depends on the settings of other switches.

1&2 on together drops overall amp gain down by 2dB.
3&4 on together drops the subwoofers down by 2dB.

Effectively, you've dropped the entire output of the amp down and then dropped the subs even more. Not sure that's really what you're looking for. Not sure why DIP 5 muted anything. It should have no effect if the remote isn't connected or if switch 6 is off.
