Oh, and some explanation: When I log to my ConnectedDrive account with BMW Poland, some week ago - when I clicked the service which is listed as already "booked" (paid for), the "Map update", a message appeared that until October 27 due to maintenance work the server would not be available. Then the date disappeared, and it says now "under maintenance" - so I called them to ask, and they confirmed I'm entitled to free updates (both OTA and a download to an USB device), but they were very vague as to when the server would be up... So I'm furious that - having paid for it with my ConnectedDrive Services I bought with my car back in March - I still cannot use those pre-paid services. And my Dealer of course is ready to update my maps for a hefty price, which would effectively be paying BMW TWICE for the same service!

I have question about command "nbt.exe DE.fsc 0xA8 0x08 <7DIGITVIN>".
Is part "0xA8 0x08" connected with map? If I want to generate code for others maps must I change this part? Where can I find code for other maps?

I will be getting my m235i in February, US spec but will be coming with maps on it for Europe (I am stationed in Germany for 2 years or I would just get US maps.) Will I be able to obtain a FSC code and load US maps on it without having to go to the dealer? I just started looking into this.

You can get North America or Europe Maps and easily switch back and forth between them.

This is probably more of a Windows question, but here goes. I've created the DE.fsc file, and when I run cmd and enter nbt.exe DE.fsc 0xA8 0x08 Kxxxxxx the response is

'not.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Any suggestions?

You need to run the command in the same directory the nbt.exe is

Google has marked the NBT attachment as a virus, so theres nothing we can do but to delete the attachment

Shawn, in a similar situation (Military in Europe, want to switch map loads), but my US spec car came with North America maps. Have NBT-evo 2015-4 NA, appreciate an assist on swapping to Europe.

Great FAQ will you make same guild for CIC? and maps PREMIUM for Europe West? Im confused on point5. and after with CIC and Europe will be diffrent ya?. What should I cheange in command and what not to recive fsc code. Please make FAQ for CIC as well. Great job btw

Edit. I have F30 with CIC and maps Road Map Europa Premium 2012 so its q old ;D time to upgrade.

Using the command prompt the De.fsc file cannot be read but with the generator it reads it fine wonder why?

Can anyone explain where I may have gone wrong?

Thanks for your guide ZIPPHREAK. Would you know the correct codes for the CIC system that I should enter for Application ID and Upgrade index? I have the following for the NBT system :- item 6. Enter Application ID 0xDE (for NBT) 7. Enter Upgrade Index 0x1
