Very odd - I coded my mirrors to fold in on locking on 3 of my cars now. The 235 and both the 3-series wagon and sedan. Works perfectly on the F30 and F31 but no dice on the F23. I know I am not screwing something up because I am doing the exact same thing on all the cars and it works on the others.

Anyone get it to work properly on the 2-series? I have delay set to zero fold on comfort close, comfort close on key.

KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA is probably inactive

If using Bimmercode and you have comfort access, you need to go into expert mode and change KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA to aktiv.

Not sure if it has anything to do with your car being a convertible.
It works on my 2014 coupe

That very well may be. Mirror opening is no problem, mirror closing is the issue. Now that I think about it there's the added complexity of long hold for top up or down so that may be screwing things up as well.

I have the app (IOS) and the Vgate Icar wifi dongle which are connecting.

I select an item to change and see, top right of screen, CODE. I click this but get In-App Purchaces could not be loaded.
I thought this was free?
If its not how can I purchace when connected to VLINK wifi?

Click the settings icon then unlock coding, or something like that. To actually code is not free, $30 if I remember correctly, but you can view the interface for free.

You need to be connected to actual internet to buy, not the WiFi emitted from the dongle

Yes, you can play with the app for free, but to actually change anything, you must first hit the Unlock Coding Button which, when you are connected to the regular internet, will allow you to purchase the app. Once you have paid for the app, then you can code and it will actually make the changes. Don't forget to hit the Code button at the top of the app for each module so it will save your changes.

You kind of need to work off the coding cheat sheet posted in another thread as a roadmap.

That may be the problem as I have the app on an Android tablet and it doesn't have the Expert or Advanced mode for Android and I was still able to easily code my mirrors to fold upon door lock and unfold on unlock. This was on a 2016 M235i coupe. The folding top may add another variable to the equation.

I just brought home my 2018 M240i and went to try out BimmerCode. When I fire everything up most of the modules are grayed out and inaccessible.

Has anyone else coded a 2018 and it’s just me or am I jumping the gun and the app isn’t updated for 2018s yet?

I have a 2018 240i, and Bimmercode worked to get rid of ASD, to get the side mirrors to close when the car is locked, and to turn on the lights under the handles when the car goes into reverse.

Also, on a whim, I just checked for updates, and there was one.

if you unlock the car and start it within 1 min, it will show the boot screen, if you dont do it in that order, it wont. I did some research today.

You can reboot the headunit by holding down the power button until it resets, than you will see it.

No luck on a 15' m235, but it worked on a 16 m235. Has something to do with firmware code of the car i guess.

I got it to work once with my 17 M240i with i6 Drive.

1. I coded it
2. Left the car without locking the doors
3. Waited for 30 mins
4. Opened the door without touching anything else
5. Started the car before the "M performance" logo came up on the instrument cluster (basically start the car right away once u open the door)
6. M animation came on for full duration, then my "Driver Selection Profile", then main screen.

To comment to the guys above , I had some coding done almost 2 years ago and the guy was able to get the M animation to work on my 15' M235i 10/2014 build date, haven't tried with the app since I already have it coded but it can work on a 15' I guess

Update on M animation on start up

I did get it to work every time on my 17 M240i now. The trick is to start the car within seconds after unlocking your door, before the "M performance" word on the instrument cluster pops up (if u have that coded).

However, if you didn't give your car enough time to shut off completely then the next time you restart your car, it will just bring you straight to the main menu (in my case the driver profile selection).

Basically, I only see the M animation screen when I start the car the next morning.

As mentioned by another member, I guess BMW cares more about giving u access to the iDrive system instead of showing u an animation screen.
