Just out of curiosity, what model of VMR wheels did you order?
710FF 19x8.5 et45, 19x9.5et45. It's the 8.5's that aren't in yet.

Wow! I was really close to ordering those myself during Black Friday, but decided on the Gunmetal V710's.

I really hope that it can be resolved for you soon.

2016 M235i - No suspension mods - I'm the 2nd owner of the car and car came with square 18" 7.5 436M rims. I guess the previous owner liked the idea of rotating his tires.

Am I safe to run V703 18X8.5 +35 Front and 18X9.5 +45 Rear without my car's abs/electrical system freaking out?

Will run a 225/40/18 Front and 255/35/18 Rear

It seems this is the correct fitment based on all the pics and info in this thread.

New to the forum so thanks for any help!

First off, welcome to the forum!

Yes, these specs are what we generally recommend for the M235i. I'll shoot you a PM with some pricing. I have these available in Super Silver and Gunmetal!

I'm leaning towards Gunmetal

After reading this several times I still feel the need for clarification on the following set up.
2015 M235 XI - will the following be ok??? with fitment/rubbing???
I don't want to use spacers...

18x8.5 ET35 - 235/40 18
18x9.5 ET45 -265/35 18

Dinan springs

Thanks in advance.

8.5 ET35 with 225's are fine with or without springs

8.5 ET35 with 235's will most likely rub on springs

8.5 ET45 with 235's are very close to the strut. Others have reported success with a 3mm spacer giving you an effective ET42. This is what I plan on doing.

If you want 235's, find a 8.5 ET 40-42 or go ET45 with 3mm spacers.

If neither of those work, go with 225's.

Thanks for reply.........
There are two issues i'm trying to avoid.
1) reported issues with spacers causing drivability issues like vibrations. I've seen this first hand and read about it so it's a real.
2) also, i prefer the look of the 235 in the front, seems to fill out the wheel well nicely.
Thoughts?

I think you have this backwards.
ET35 will be further from the strut/springs than ET40-42.

But if you wanted 235s, ET35 will most likely rub the fender. 8.5 ET40-42 will be as close as you can get to the strut and the fender with 235/40/18.

Do you know why the spacers involved caused vibrations? I ask because I've used spacers quite a bit and have never had an issue with them.

I run 235 AD08Rs (which are wide and square shouldered) on 18x8.5et35 front wheels, but I do have camber plates and run -3 degrees of camber on the front.
I agree that ET40 is probably a safer bet if you have less camber.

Agreed - my suggestion was based on both stock height and /or springs, even then you might need a fender roll with springs just to mitigate any risks of rubbing.*

With camber plates of course, your selection in wheels and tires becomes much wider as you can increase the amount of rubber up front.

Lots of good conversation on this topic! Our official recommendation is the 8.5 ET35 and 9.5 ET45 with 225/255 tires. You can run the 235 front tire with ET42, but you're maxed out in the rear at 255 unless you're able to play around with alignment specs. I've seen it done before, but its not something I'd recommend for a bolt on fitment.

As far as spacers are concerned, running a 3mm hub centric spacer shouldn't cause any issues with vibration as there's still plenty of hub engagement there. Fun fact: some OEM's even offer spacers as a factory option.

Hello there. I recently bought a brand new 2019 230i M Sport, and it was delivered on winter tires - so it is now time to order a new set of wheels for the summer. I've been going through the thread and it seems that these are the specs to go for:

F: 8.5" ET35 225/35/19
R: 9.5" ET45 255/30/19

This is the "plug and play" size, right? The specs for M235i and M240i are the same for the non-M cars I take it.

Would going for 18s instead lower the risk of rubbing? My car's suspension will remain stock for as long as I own it, and I wanna avoid rubbing at all cost.

Those sizes are correct for all 2 Series. Whether you go with 18's or 19's, you shouldn't experience any issues with rubbing. The widths and offsets for the 18's would be the same, but the tires sizes would be 225/40/18 and 255/35/18.
