Was given to me by the previous owner of the M235i I bought, however was not given the keys. Hear you can get a copy from Thule, or have a locksmith make you one.

Can they still be installed without the key; is the key just for theft prevention? Also, do you have the rubber strips for the top of them?

The key locks down the plastic covers. For theft protection yes but also the covers would be loose and flap around.

The keys are dirt cheap. Like around $5 cdn. All you need is the number on the face of the lock.

A number of places. Rack Attack sells them (I think even to the states) but there are a number of Thule retailers online if you search. Any one of those places will be able to get you a key.

eBay is another place, I’ve seen sellers selling keys if you provide the number.

Certainly very easy to come by. If you do get the rack, be aware that you will probably want to get a fairing, it whistles. It’s a great rack other than that and the noise isn’t a deal breaker.
