always in sport mode

is it possible to code the car so that it always starts in sport mode? I typically drive it in sport mode and get kind of tired and annoyed with having to push the button to put it into sport mode everytime I start the car. I currently have the bimmercode app. thanks!

bummer, but thanks for the info! I don't know why they don't allow this but I suppose it has something to do with fuel efficiency and emissions.

Thanks for the additional info! On my wife's Audi A3 it stays in whatever mode you last had it in when you shut off the car, which is really nice. If Audi can do it you would think BMW could too.

That's not surprising, each company have difference standards and internal rules to determine how much liability they are willing to expose themselves to.

For instance, BMW decodes the built in rear fogs for US spec cars but Audi freely keeps that option on all they US vehicles. Reason is the potential liability one is willing to expose over the other.

If you every notice also, BMW turn signals on all US spec vehicles are red but the rest of the world it's amber for the same exact vehicle.

I know it sounds like a apples to oranges comparison to your Sport+ memory question but my point being is that it all stems from how conservative a manufacture chooses to be.

yeah I had heard that about the turn signals too and starting noticing all the cars recently in the US with the yellow ones and was like WTF? I really don't mind the red ones but combine that with things like the rear fogs not having a switch and needing to be coded to turn on, and it seems BMW definitely errs on the side of caution. I imagine they feel they have gotten burned one too many times in lawsuits.

I think all new BMW's with latest software remember the last setting. I tested on the new 3 series and 5 series and it works.

I even heard of F series cars with updated I level software having this option but never seen it myself. My car is still on original 2015 software and in my county I never seen free updates from BMW, unless something is broken.
I'm still not courageous enough to attempt an update myself, lol.

Rear fogs? Are you referring to the reverse lights?

No, I literally meant "rear fog lights." It's only comes standard in European vehicles.

Omitted in US spec vehicles.

They are not omitted, you just need to install the Euro spec headlight switch or modify US switch and code with bimmercode on F series cars. Instructions are all over the web.

You can also code the rear fogs to be on at all times during daytime lighting conditions for added safety.
