Does anyone use no rinse wash?
I live in an apartment so I don't have access to a hose and such. I basically go to friend's houses or my parent's house and wash my car when I visit.
I was wondering if other people, who have the same car as me, have tried Optimum No Rinse or any other no rinse wash. I have read good things about it but would love to hear of people on here who have used it. |

I use Optimum No Rinse on all my cars, including my 235i and it's been flawless. It was highly recommended by my detailer after he put on cquartz. Highly recommend! Just make sure you go with high quality microfiber towels for drying or waffleweave towels.

I use EcoTouch spray on car wash. Pretty much the same as the Griot's version, but much less expensive if bought in concentrate form which Griot's doesn't sell.

Griots products are over priced. I buy my supplies from Detailed Image for my business. Great products and excellent customer service.

Whatever you end up going with get this spray bottle think it was like $9 or something online. Super fine mist and very good quality makes the job much easier. I also keep a mini botte and microfiber towel in my trunk for emergency spot cleaning.

+3 on Optimum. Discovered the line when I had my MINI in 2006; been a convert ever since. It's by far the best combination of shine/protection, ease of use, and cost that I've ever come across -- and you're supporting a relatively small two-family-owned business in Memphis, Tenn. that cares about what its products do, is honest about what its products don't or won't do, and has phenomenal customer service.

As an update I tried rinseless for the first time today with Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine and a big stack of microfibers. It worked pretty amazingly! I followed the ratios for the wash bucket mixture and also did a spray bottle of the stuff to spray on the panels before washing.
All in all I was super happy with the the ease in which the dirt came off and the shine was pretty impressive. I did the fold the microfiber cloths in quarters and never re-swiped a quarter over a panel. Looking closely after I couldn't see any micro scratches. BTW I had no idea Optimum was a small two family owned company. A friend turned me on to their stuff when I got this car and I have been using their spray wax and car shampoo every wash. Here is a pic. I had some other things I had to do this afternoon so I forwent some of the gaps between panels and the wheels I phoned in, but I think the rest looked great. |

I've used Optimum No Rinse for several years now on my vehicles. Works great as long as the vehicle does not have 'caked' on dirt e.g. winter salt, etc. in which case I spray the vehicle off first at a local car wash then use No Rinse when I get the car back in my garage.

Used Optimum No Rinse for the first time today and I Love it! Like most people, I was freaking out the first couple of panels looking for scratches after drying and didn't see any. This stuff is Amazing!
So, I used green and yellow microfiber towels and just washed them in the laundry. Problem is that some of the dirt on the microfiber towels I used for the washing step didn't come off. Are these safe to use again or will they scratch the paint? I'm thinking it will scratch the paint if I reuse them.

This is a good idea. Was doing some research and chemical guys sells some form of microfiber wash soap. Might give this a try or maybe Dawn liquid soap. Don't want to buy new micro fiber towels every time I use ONR.

I've found that the microfiber wash doesn't get the microfiber towels really clean, especially the ones exposed to brake dust off of wheels, etc.
I made an odd discovery by chance one day. I had some Gyeon Bathe car wash around from when I first applied a ceramic coating, and I used it instead of the ONR for doing a hand-wash before some coating touch up. It almost instantly turned the wash bucket water dark grey as soon as I put the towels in to soak before washing, from taking the deeper dirt out of the towels. (which were freshly washed with microfiber wash) So now, every 2-3 wash cycles, I bring the dirty microfiber in, and before washing them, soak them in a bucket of warm water with a splash of Gyeon Bathe in it. Then rinse/wring them out under running water. Then they go in the washing machine with the specialized microfiber wash. Even the towels reserved for wheels that are filthy with brake dust residue come out almost completely clean. So far I've been able to make a set of towels last nearly a year even with being used 3-4 times a month. I'm sure something similar in makeup to the Gyeon Bathe would do the same as far as getting the deeper stains out of towels, and still be safe for them.
