F22: will caster bushings give enough camber-in-corners for track use?

I recently purchased a 228i and am setting it up for AX and occasional HPDE track use. The plan is to invest and progress in stages.

Starting point will include M-sport brake upgrade and 20mm lower spring/shock set, not full coil-over invest yet. I would like to avoid caster/camber plates for step 1 (keeping in a lower AX class)

My question: does anyone know if adding 2-3 deg caster with caster bushings would add enough camber in corner for spirited HPDE track use without heavy excessive outside edge tire wear? And/or create poor handling on track?

thanks!

No, not really. You will get better camber gain, but more is needed to keep the tire upright in the turns.

Even cars with 7+ of caster are still running 3+ of camber, depending on the setup.

I have been running my M240i in FS for three years now. As soon as you do anything to change the overall geometry of your suspension including lowering springs or camber plates you will be pushed into STU class. Are you trying to run in D-street or wanting to step up to STU? My thoughts are, if you are wanting to jump into STU the least expensive thing you can do to improve your car for AutoX or track would be to install camber plates and buy 200tw tires for AutoX I’m not sure what tires are best for HPDE events. And get a proper alignment for AutoX and Track.
