What do You Consider Your Most Important Upgrade...?
...whether it was for cosmetic, performance, or functional reasons?
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– In my case, it's the camber plates that came with the coilovers I had installed. The reason is that has made the car's steering dramatically more responsive. That's a critical requirement for me, whether on the track or on the street. On the track, it makes the car easier to drive quickly; on the street, it makes the car safer. Ordinarily I'd choose the LSD first, but upon reflection I realized that for DD'ing in these days of less than ideal road surfaces, for me quick steering response trumps all else. I want a car that does what I tell it to do when I tell it to do it. Mind you, I'm not at all aggressive on the street, but situations do arise where a responsive car is a safer car. Interestingly, the wife's 2015 Mazda 3 does that for me, too. Clearly, Mazda knows steering inputs and responses, whether or not the driver is in a Miata. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Looking forward to hearing what others are most excited about with their upgrades, no matter the type!

I have a 2-way tie for "best". The M2 Lower Control Arms, for reasons that parallel yours, but add simple fun-to-drive responsiveness, and the Rogue Short Shift Kit on the 6MT. Can't choose between them, but the best mods to date.

Love all mine, but the Rogue SSK hands down. (slight nod to the powerflex upper bushings, changed steering for little money)

Of what mods that have been performed, the most important upgrade for me is the charge pipe. Two stock CP's broke, one 60 miles and one 80 miles from civilization. At the same time that I upgraded the CP I upgraded the FMIC.

I know I keep posting about it, but Dinan Shockware was way more dramatic than I was expecting, especially for the money. Their custom damper remapping for Sport + is where it shines the most.

I'd say suspension. Anything from coilovers to LCA seem to bring most smiles. Also... the m240i is not perfect. Lol. So don't listen to that nanny.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S. Every other tire feels squishy and dull in comparison.

For cosmetic purposes, ~1" lowering springs and a spacer for the front. Getting the stance just right to fill out the fenders does wonders.
For functionality, it's got to be the Apex 75mm stud conversion. It makes swapping between wheel and tire sets in my garage a breeze. For performance, it's the Vorshlag camber plates. Turn in, steering response, and mid-corner grip feel so much better now. |

Unplugging the center channel speaker.
No joke. Who does a R+L combined center channel? WHO DOES THAT? |

That's a tough one, since there's a multiplier affect or symbiotic relationship. My most important is probably the charge pipe, as the OEM wouldn't survive my BM3 stage 2 tune.

The best improvement you can make to a car is the diver behind the wheel take some of that cash you would spend on a carbon fiber dohicky and go inroll in a drivers school for a weekend

Yes indeed, the driver mod has a lot going for it. It takes a bit of work to discover how to get the most out of that mod, but I think it's an effort well worth making.

In the order I did them - LSD and camber plates.
