The OEM pads being so good, I very much doubt the R4-S shall be an improvement. However, in the past I've had very good results with the R4, but that was on a S2000, a much lighter car.

Although it is not uncommon to mount more aggressive pads on the front than on the rear of front weight-biased cars, I’m not sure it would be a good idea on this car because the rear brakes seem to be highly solicited, if the relative sizes of the discs are any indication. I understand that a RSL1 has more friction than a RS29. If so, one could possibly mount a RSL1 on the front and a RS29 on the rear. However, I think the difference in friction would be too great to mount RS29 in front and OEMs in the rear. At the moment, the Porterfield R4 seems to be the only track pad (front and rears) presently available, but you would think things should improve the closer we get to spring…. I sent an email in to Danny at Carbotech www.ctbrakes.com
He said they have both the D1609 front and D1656 rear backing plates available, so that is a full set option. I run their XP12s on my 370z racecar, with slicks. I would suggest XP8 for street tires or XP10 or 12 with track tires depending on how agressive you are. |

I just received an e-mail from Pagid USA (Florida) confirming that they now stock RS29 front & rear, and they included the list of distributors.
I shall be contacting one today. http://www.pagidracing.com/service/distributors/ |
