name that cooler

There are so many coolers on the m235i and real oem is a bit confusing

I had to change my rad /intercooler support bracket, I’m putting everything together and I need to know what fluid runs through each item so I can clean it

First cooler sits in front of the condenser?
What does it carry? It has two lines

Second cooler has 3 lines behind rad

Lastly the radiator has 4 inlets/outlets. Are they all for coolant

I believe the cooler that sits in front of the radiator is the transmission oil cooler. Not sure how things route though.

I traced the lines to the cooler in front of the rad and they go to the cooler near the reservoir which looks like an oil cooler

If so I can’t believe these cars have two external oil coolers not counting oil filter housing

The smaller cooler (zip tied) I believe is the trans cooler (manuals can confirm) it’s cooled via the radiator

Jeez. All that is so straight forward Lol. High performance cars need their stuff cooled down.

Also, that small cooler in front of the radiator is the guilty party for me not being able to have an aftermarket heat exchanger installed in my car. I had purchased one which was advertised as a "direct bolt-on" but after the shop pulled things apart they said it was a no go unless there was some cutting of plastic brackets and zip ties to get it all secured. I didn't want it to be half ass engineered in so I sent the part back.

If these cars need extra cooling, you gotta be driving near the earths core.

So much complexity, hoses and cooling

Removing the radiator was a f ing nightmare, I’m going to replace it while I’m there

Ha ha. Tell that to my ECU after a few pulls when it's 80 degrees outside and it wants to cut throttle and timing......so much cooling things happening yet still a ton of heat soak and performance impact.

Nope, I had JB4 and then switched to MHD. Running stock map now. The timing corrections from the car getting hot were more prominent with the JB4 setup.
