I called the dealership and they sent me a screen shot of the optional equipment it came with?

OP, I daily drove an F30 3 Series auto for three years. I then drove a M235i auto for three years. I just got a M240 6-speed for my DD. So I've got all the bases covered here. The 235/240 is a great DD. It's fast/sporty when ya want it to be, docile and compliant when ya don't. Not as big as the 3, maybe a tick less cushy, but certainly handles better. Get the M235/40 and you won't regret it.
BUT, if you're not in stop-n-go traffic everyday, perhaps you should consider a stick. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. The drivers at the BMW Performance Center thanked me for buying what they call "The Millennial Anti-Theft Device". I forgot how much I like to drive until I got the stick. I'm not trying to re-ignite the Auto vs Stick debate, I'm just suggesting you think about it. To each his own. By the way, my brother daily drove a 5 series, saw my original M235 auto, bought an M235 stick, and LOVES his. I'm telling ya, the stick is the sh*t in this car. Good luck with your choice. Let us know what ya decide to do. |

Here is a picture of my car for reference, which has the front splitter and black kidney grills: Here is a picture of a different car with the m-performance steering wheel, which is alcantara:

Put the car on a lift and rotate the rear wheel. If the opposite wheel turns in the same direction then it has the LSD. Very very very few M235s have the LSD and most that were ordered that way have lots of other M Performance parts. |

Any 2'er is a great DD. You owe it to yourself to try a 228/230 as well. Plenty of power for anything but all out racing, and better weight balance, mileage, and cost. And the x-drive is, for me, very performance-oriented. My first AWD performance car, but I'm hooked on the awd dynamic, it is very conducive to balanced 4 wheel drift.

Great color combo! I would ask them why it's not CPOd, for that money it definitely should be. Other than that if everything checks out, looks like a great example.

All three pics of the front end seem to show an uneven gap between the hood and the bumper. I'd be sure to inspect this closely in person to see if there's an issue, or it's attributable merely to image distortion.

The service history of this vehicle shows four times the car was aligned, as well as a single tire and some exterior trim being replaced. Hmmmm...

I am going to let my 235i go soon. Best car Ive ever owned. Totally trouble free. Its got the dinan exhaust and intake...63k miles for a 2015. I will get a cpo m3 or a new m2 comp when they start showing up. Its a great DD but once I hit 50k I bought a honda fit to go with this just to take some of the pressure off of it out of warranty. Cant go wrong with the 235/240 for reliability and fun at such a great price point.

I'm not sure I would jump to that conclusion, but frequent alignments could also mean a car that is tracked quite often and maybe went off the track a few times. Decal replacement could be understandable as that car has a bunch of M Performance side/rocker stripes on it which could be peeling. The dealer should have more detailed maintenance history than what's on the Carfax and why the decal was replaced.
The more troubling sign to me is that the dealer didn't CPO a car that is prime candidate to be CPOd...

You should have a different BMW dealer run the VIN for you. They have an internal system it's like CarFax on crack - a lot more information.
