Hey yall, this is my first documented DIY for my 2015 M235i F23 (still in progress of putting together and installing, just wanted to get a thread going)

Back Story: Since I first met some random dude named Christian at SoCal Euro and fell in love with his F22, I felt I needed it in my life but wanted a drop to. I bought my little blue demon, aptly name Succubus, in April 2018 and by July 2018 i was full bolt on with JB4 then in September 2018 i caved and bought MHD to run JB4 BEF. However the my M235i doesnt have a lot of dash real estate to mount an android device to run the guages and programs needed by MHD and JB4 and it didnt come with a back up csmera so here is stock looking solution to having a Backup Camera and over-riding the factory Nav screen for the guages. I also wanted to JB4 board into the car to lower the risk of water damage and clean up the engine bay.

Computer Goals:
○ Run JB4 and Guages on factory nav screen
○ Run MHD program and flash/code from computer
○ Run DashCam program and serve as storage site for dash camera files
○ Run E-Sys program for coding (need to find windows emulator)

20 gauge wiring as per Terry at BMS. Can use any colors as long as each wire in labeled correct and pinned correctly. I bought generic 2x packs of 20g black/white/red 10 feet (planning on cutting the 10ft into 3 feet sections and just labeling and trimming as necessary once wiring is through the firewall) - $8.98 x 2= $17.96

For the linked product you still need a computer/android to run software, but that would work for the media interface box. I know you can get Android screens and headunits but people have had issues and I line how my factory system is set up so I went this way because I like DIY and already have the Media interface unit from my bimmertech backup camera.

Plus with this I can(if i can find an emulator) run windows and Esys for coding and connect my dash cam to it. I'm also looking for a usb camera that I can run some dash cam software and place the camera in the spot where the compass is located in the mirror so I have front and back covered

i am under the impression that this has android os with launcher and can probably load apk onto it. it enables android auto and carplay via usb.. so it says.
