Oil Change; Drain Oil Cooler

Hey all,

In preparation for doing my own oil changes between dealer services, I have been thinking about the oil cooler side. Is there a drain on the oil cooler or a procedure for doing so? I imagine there isn't a lot of oil in there, but it is technically used. Especially useful if you do a lot of tracking...

I’m pretty sure our oil cooler doesn’t have a dedicated drain plug & BMW servicing manuals don’t have it listed as a procedure on their maintenance schedule.

Since the N55 uses a nearly 7 quart fill during a change it’s seems unwise to disconnect the lines ( and probably replace O-ring ) to rid a few ounces of oil in a cooler.
