adaptive LEDs
just picked up my 2019 M240i xdrive a few weeks ago. I got the adaptive LEDs and was just curious, besides them turning to light up corners as you go around them, are there any other differences compared to the non-adaptive ones? Do the blinkers or the angel eyes look or behave any differently?

im pretty sure these are more trick than that.
I have a MY17 M240 with the adaptive XENON and they do all sorts of dancing. Especially when the active highbeam is ON. Ill be driving directly behind somone and the lights will go around and in front of the car in front while maintaining a dark "black box" section directly behind the car in front. Quite strange to watch, but amazes me how much more vision i can get without disturbing other road users. |

Hmmm, Bending light.
What would Einstein say? Einstein became the first to calculate the correct value for light bending. The first observation of light deflection was performed by noting the change in position of stars as they passed near the Sun on the celestial sphere. Just having a little fun here |

I appreciate the thoughts. also curious if the inside headlight actually does anything. On my m235i I don't believe it did so I guess it was just an empty bulb. I'm guessing it's the same on the m240i too. Seems like such a waste.

The adaptive LED's are substantially different in the US from the ones in Europe/possibly other countries. Here i think they swivel with the turn of the wheel, and the angel eyes look different. Not sure they do much else in the US.
In Europe i think they avoid blinding other cars be it oncoming or in front of you. Someone correct me if im wrong, which i very much may be. |
