My 230i is my DD so most probably I'll get a new one. Will either wait for G87 or get the M240i. I really like the car and don't see what I'd need something bigger. Cayman is an option but I do use back seats every now and then.

I'm incredibly happy with my 230i, and it's only gotten better with modification. It was a big purchase and I'm not sure if I'd be willing to replace it so soon without major improvement...especially if it has an ugly gigantic grill similar to the trend with other models in the lineup. The F22 and non-Comp M2 might be the last decent looking BMWs we get fir a while.
That said, if they give it a proper LSD, even more fender room, better steering feel, and an Individual paint option I could be tempted. |

No interest as there's no convertible.
I reckon that by the time I need to replace the engine and transmission, the current small set of electric retro-fitters here in the UK (who are doing very well at the moment) will be much larger and I can do an electric conversion.

My car is paid for, not selling it ever unless something horrible happens. It's exactly the "analog" modern car I wanted for long term ownership.
Not remotely considering anything BMW after 2020 at this point. 6MT LSD i6T Analog gauges Timeless looks She's a keeper!

I have the same reqs

I look forward to seeing the new car, but if it doesn't have a 6MT and I6, I wouldn't consider it. A giant grill snout would also be a deal-breaker. |

All that said, When the first lease returns of the new generation start coming on the market in about five years, my 2016 will be starting to get pretty long in the tooth, so who knows? |

Both our current cars (2017 M240i and 2019 Min Cooper S) get very little use, so they will likely stay in our possession for the next few years. After that time, I will probably be looking at an EV as a replacement for at least one of them.
