Front Pressures on Square Setup
What pressures are you folks running in the front? I have the square setup with the Pirelli's running 35 PSI (front) and 37 (rear).
IMHO 35 PSI in the front feels a little too soft. Maybe the feeling is the run flat Pirelli's. But for some reason the front felt a little too loose/soft during an afternoon drive. Regards, John |

its the tires. Specifically the sidewall and center groove (or lack thereof)
If you were on tires with 'feel' in mind, even at 30-32 psi it would seem more tight. Seth |

I always go by the door sticker.

I have the staggered setup - I usually run my front/rear @ 37/37 . I find the factory sticker is more prone to inducing under steer than equal pressures.

I guess I am old fashioned but really like the feel of a car with a tight front end and a little bit of play in the rear. So I run a 2-4 lb difference between the fronts and rears. For the street the Fronts are 36 and Rears 34. I tried the factory setting of 32/38 but thought it dulled the feel of the car. It was very solid but not much feed back.
I have the staggered, MPSS 225/40/18 and 245/35/18 set up. |

Pressure stickers / factory recc's are just a general suggestion, usually favoring understeer and ride quality. As long as you aren't butting up against max or min pressure you can tune these to suit yourself. The stock wheels are as narrow as you can get, so any tires will be challenged to not feel kind of 'poochy' and will benefit from some additional pressure to tighten things up. RFT's are less sensitive to this, since they are such a stiff carcass; they kind of suck no matter what. If you are sensitive enough to notice the extra few # of air, you will really appreciate better tires (non-RFT summers), preferably on wheels that are another half inch wide.

When I was tuning my car, my Indy performance shop recommended 36 all the way around with my staggered set-up and I have been very happy ever since. The slight under-steer on tight corners was no longer noticeable and the tires are wearing fairly evenly which somewhat relieves the non-ability to rotate tires with the staggered set-up. They recommended the same for my son's E90 with a square tire set-up.
