Hello there,

I just bought a used M235i, I'm wondering if I have to change the chargepipe for it?

Thank you

have to no, should yes. Lots of different ones, I'm going ER, the have in black or chrome. If you boost power, definitely.

The stock charge pipe is garbage and is prone to premature failure. Under tuned applications it’s a ticking time bomb before it blows. I went with the VRSF chargepipe, and although it was very frustrating to put in it works flawlessly.

They fail even on the OEM tune, add in the fact that the newest N55 engine will be a 2016 model year with multiple years of heat cycles degrading the plastic charge pipe and you are taking a risk. Replace it once and never worry about it again, or have something that could leave you stranded hang over your head every time you drive it.

Get the ER one, it's the best fit and quality for your car. The stock one is plastic it will eventually become brittle and fail.

If your car is tuned, yes.

If your car is stock but not under warranty, I would still replace the charge pipe. It's only a matter of time before it fails on you

agree, and if you get ER intercooler kit, with charge (great fit and quality) comes with both ends of piping. (if you tune)

Not to hijack the post but I've heard mixed reviews on VRSF CP fitment. What else would be a recommended brand that no one has had issues fitting?

Spot on for CP, for IC if convertible need to go AA. To my knowledge it's the only one that will fit.
