Replaced all six ignition coils today with Bavarian Autosport's High-Performance Ignition Coils.

I was experiencing some misfiring and breakup when giving the car some juice while cruising. After putting in the new coils it's as smooth as butter!

Will report back if I experience any MPG gain or noticeable performance improvement.

Purchased from ECS Tuning: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bavarian...coil/5005~bav/

Car currently at 83,000 miles

Recently had Tint World tear off the tint and clean up all windows. Tired of looking for an inspection shop that will pass me with 20% tint. Back to the fishbowl look

Today I decided to try out xDelete and my stuttering/"misfire" issues have disappeared. MechEngineer notified me that my issues sounded like his and it was the transfer case causing problems.

It feels night/day better! Accelerating from a standstill is a lot smoother, accelerating while in 3rd-5th gear is amazing -- no stuttering or choppiness, and the car feels nimbler in the frontend.

Not to mention I can now swing the back end out on turns and light up the tires a bit

Best $150 I've spent on the car so far!

Installed the AutoTecknic Carbon Fiber & Alcantara E-Brake Handle today. Looks and feels great. Waiting for a carbon shifter surround to replace the silver one and then I'll finish it off with the center steering wheel trim.

Straightforward install. Took maybe 10 minutes.

Went to a friends house to hook up to his battery charger set on 10 amp mode. Total flash time was 39 minutes.

Used this K+DCAN cable from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/LZLRUN-Diagno.../dp/B017IG81SQ

Nice build and having fun following this thread. Was wanting to ask about the center display showing the Power and Torque gauges. Both of mine are 0 to 400 full scale but, your torque runs 0 to 480. Was that a mod?

Thanks!! It's been a fun process. The torque limit was increased by the MHD tune I believe

Makes sense. Mine is total stock for now except the previous owner put 255s on the rear. Had my car for a month and I think I'm going to want to replace the seats with the M4 equivalent. I'm afraid my fat ass just doesn't fit in the 235 seat very well...

Got some new wheels fitted today! Picked them up on Tirerack.com

TRMotorsports C4 in grey - 18x8 +40 square. Still running 225/40 tires right now, but will probably try to go a little bigger in the rear.

I'm in love

Nice power, right where it should be on stock FMIC and OTS. Curious how you make out with FMIC and custom tune, as I prepare to finally flash mine this year..

Modification list will be updated periodically [updated 02/05/2020]:

Cosmetic
  • AutoTecknic Carbon Fiber & Alcantara e-brake handle
  • T-Carbon shifter surround trim
  • Gloss black double-bar kidney grills
  • Red Start/Stop button
  • M-Performance pedals
  • M2 paddle shifters
  • IND color-matched front reflectors
  • Suede-alcantara style wrapped interior trim
  • Carbon mirror caps
  • BMW rubber floor mats
  • Stainless 90mm muffler tips
  • Coded via BimmerCode

Wheels & Tires
  • TRMotorsports C4 18x8 +40 in grey
  • Federal SS595 Performance tires

  • xDelete
  • BMS Performance intake
  • MHD Stage 2 tune
  • NGK 97506 2-Step Colder spark plugs
  • Bavarian Autosport High Performance ignition coils
This was all I needed to see to commit to removing my aluminium trim set and paying for the suede/carbon. Takes the car from "sport" to "elite" look!

Thanks! I love the look. I wish the OEM M-Performance alcantara/carbon trim wasn't $800+ ... I decided to emulate the same look for around $200

How did you pull that one off? I was about to order the $800 kit.

I wrapped all of the trim myself in a suede/alcantara-style vinyl that I purchased on Amazon. Then ordered the Autotechnic carbon & alcantara ebrake handle, and a gloss carbon shifter trim from eBay.

Well played. Definitely looks nice for much less cash.

So you are down to 3.75s -0-60 with FBO and Stage 1 basically? and the Coilpack (no idea what that is)?

With that setup, you should be able to run 245/35s at all four corners with no clearance issues. I'm running a square 18X8 et43 setup with 245/35R18 PS4S tires. No clearance or rubbing. No even close. You'll be shocked at the difference in front end grip plus the MUCH meatier look. They are much wider than the 225s.
