Empty cig lighter socket hole under dash
Hi there! I see that there is an empty cig lighter socket hole under the dash. I want to install a 12V socket there, like the one I have in my boot.
What are my options? Can this be done cleanly? |

Is it empty as standard?
Mine has a lighter which amazes me as we get next to nothing compared to you guys. Unless I've got it as part of the driver comfort pack? |

It doesn't matter, the extra under glovebox 12V outlet is not available on all US-Spec vehicles, under a 5 Series.
It does come standard in Canada and Europe spec vehicles.. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=25606377 |

Might be at cross wires here. I am referring to the one in the centre console near the cup holders. I've no idea if I've another one, blank or not under the dash.

So you have a hole but no socket? Yes, I'd think you could install a socket - they are readily available on Amazon. A picture would be very helpful. If the socket is there, I'd guess PO lost the lighter, in which case you can add a USB plug.
