Exclamation ///M2 Gran Tourer ?

Well... this is probably the last kind of BMW everyone would want (7 seater van). But I bet, some people would want one! And we all know anything with a ///M badge does sell well.

I'd like to hear what you guys think ?

It's a little thing, but the stock 2AT being fwd based means that for packaging reasons the front brake calipers are mounted in front of the rotor.

There's very little chance that a production M would be able to repackage the steering, suspension and drivetrain to be able to mount the brakes behind the front rotor.

I haven't had any coffee yet.

Cough, new vehicle segment, cough...
"The new BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer:
Unbeatable versatility and space for up to seven people.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer sees BMW once again creating a new vehicle segment. Its signature feature is the impressive amount of space within its compact dimensions. This is the first model in the premium compact class that can accommodate up to seven people across three rows of seats – in addition to a generously sized and variable-use luggage compartment. All of which allows the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer to meet the mobility requirements of young families and offer – thanks to the five newly developed turbocharged engines [...]"

This was a valiant attempt to make something hideous less ugly.

No one would buy this.

Anyone who would want a high performance family hauler would also be vain enough to never be seen in a van. That's what SUVs are for

You should make a poll of those responding, who has children and who does not.
Years ago I wouldn't even have felt the need to comment, but now having children, I would look into something like this.
Why limit families (or dads primarily) who need this type of vehicle to the Honda Odyssey or Mazda5?

And to the SUV comment, I had an X6 and my better half, being petite, quickly demonstrated getting the kids in and out and/or loading things was far from convenient (even had it lowered on KW in attempt to alleviate this).
Seeing her try to load the stroller in that trunk was something I dared not bare witness to more than once.
I am certain there are many that share this issue, along with the simple fact minivans are much more practical.
