Audiotec-Fischer MATCH 7UP BMW Amp

I took the final step and installed the HEC/MEC USB module in the Audiotec-Fischer MATCH 7UP BMW amp. The results are astounding! Here’s the link to my post at bimmerforums:

Don't get why you have to cut tabs in the OEM amp connector to plug the Match amp harness. The only 42-pin connector that requires to cut tabs to fit in the OEM amp connector is the ASD OEM connector.

Great question! All I know that there were 2 vertical "bars" in the AF connector. I contacted Doug Dobson and he said to cut them out. So I used a dremel to sharpen a narrow screwdriver blade and slowly removed them, like a wood smith would use a wood chisel.

Are you sure that you are plugging the UP 7BMW to the OEM amp harness, and not to the ASD harness?

Those tabs are cut only if the ASD harness connector is used.

No, the the MATCH's connector was/is plugged into the chassis harness. I didn't touch the ASD. It's coded out, btw. Doug is with MSC-America. That company is providing tech support for Audiotec-Fisher in the US.
