Downpipe for m240, which one?

Hey guys so I’m looking into getting a downpipe for my 18 240. I’m currently running a stage 1 BM3 map but I’m worried about adding the downpipe and dealing with the dreaded CEL. I heard CG precision’s b58 catted downpipe doesn’t show the CEL but for whatever reason they won’t deliver to my region. I was also looking into the VRSF but I read on the forums that everyone experiences CEL issues that just keep coming back even with the 02 sensor/map fix. Can you guys recommend something?

P.s I’m only looking to get a CATTED downpipe.

If you are running a stage 1 the software should suppress the CEL (either automatically or you have to choose that option). With DP you are probably doing Stage 2 anyway.

But if I order the VRSF and stage 2 tune it will the map take off the CEL or will it just keep coming back?

They make sure it won't come on (as Stage 2 is designed for HFC and catless).

You wont get a CEL with Bm3, so it does not really matter which downpipe you get as long as it fits without any leaks.

As for the CEL question, CG precision and Wagner 300 CEL both guarantee no CEL even if no tune is used.

Is this guaranteed not to pop up? Im asking incase I go to do servicing at my dealership and have to revert back to stock map settings so not to void any warranty. I read that even with a jb4 tune the CEL would return every 50-100 miles and you would have to clear it, or has BM3 taken that into account with their tunes

With BM3, no CEL guaranteed.

Yes it will. Its only the Wagner 300 CEL, the CG Precision and the HJS downpipe that wont show a CEL

With roughly a month to go before my inspection, after an entire year of no CEL, it popped up. Last week I had it pulled, and the the stock one put back on, and this is what I found, looks like the CAT was blown sideways

I think I will either purchase a more robust catted DP, or just a catless DP, because the sound is too good to give up.

Never contacted you, was running MP stage2 just the normal BMW stock pops/burbles

The CG Precision seems like a better deal - 200 CEL and larger pipe. What are the benefits of the Wagner over it?

i have the Wagner Downpipe 200 cell , quality is perfect, i also think the cg precision is good in quality. better pay a bit more for a good downpipe rather then buying a cheap downpipe. i read in the B58 forum about some issues with cheap downpipes.

, i upgraded to pure 800 and went catless.. but i miss my wagner a bit

I've had no issues running the AA catted downpipe for the past few months. I'm on a locked DME so can't clear any CELs - which is why I went with AA. Sounds absolutely fantastic with my Remus catback.

The active autowerke is the most proven option that does not throw a CEL on these cars
