Adding paddle shifter on 228i xdrive

Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a 228i xdrive, 8 speed automatic, from 2016. The car got a premium essential package and a M Track Package.
However I am utterly disappointed that it didn't come with paddle shifter. My question is, does the vehicle have the infrastructure to take paddle shifter.
Would it be a straight forward operation, like plug and play type of thing to add paddle.

My local retailer sell OEM paddle from 3 series, wonder if they could fit on mine.

Thanks for your answers.

I have found that I don't use them very much, even at the track for HPDEs. The computer program for sport mode is very good and you can always use the shifter.

But others swear by the paddles so to each his own. I just wouldn't spend a lot for them.

I swear by paddle shifting, really need that thing.
Do you think my car is pre-wired for paddle shifting?
Anyone knows about it?

Didn't know you could get it w/o paddle shifters. Is it possible somebody removed the paddles during a steering wheel swap or something?

definitely no chance such thing happened. I believe there are few model out there that come without paddle shifter.

Apparently the Steptronic Automatic Transmission, doesn't come with paddle.
