Your BMW dealer will still flag your car for having a tune.
With Dinan, all issues will than be routed to Dinan to pay for any issues they find. You than have to wait for Dinan to review, inspect claim, fix, etc... Stage 1 is 4psi, so your paying $1100 more + installation to get the same performance as the dinan sport or jb+. If you are going stage 3 or 4 on a RWD with limiter at 155 mph, I can see the benefit of the Dinan matched warranty. But just a stage 1 dinantronic piggy back is a complete waste of money.

Dinan claims the Stage 1 is more than just a +4 psi boost you can get from the less expensive modules. Course, they could just be blowing smoke so people pay more money for the same thing you can get somewhere else for less.
My car is limited to 130 due to the tires (did not realize that when I ordered). Not a big deal as I don't expect to go over 129 MPH anytime soon. Always good to get other's opinions. |

I had the Stage 1 installed yesterday. Very pleased w/ everything. Smooth as silk in "comfort" w/ transmission in "D". Power is even as soon as you apply the gas, no hesitation. Heavier acceleration, and the car comes to life. Very noticeable and again smooth as a factory designed car.
Traffic and conditions prevented me from really testing the car in "Sport" and "D/S" w/o risking my license. However, comparing the stock car in "comfort" and "drive" vs. my tuned car w/ the same settings (some half pedal acceleration from slow rolls, etc.), the gains appear to split the difference between the stock car in comfort/Drive and the same car set to sport and /D/S. Not saying a less expensive tuner is worse, only that the Dinan is an excellent product that is well engineered and designed to control more than just at engine boost pressure. For me, it was the right choice and I have a warranty to protect my $50K investment (and a road for more upgrades that are engineered to work together if I choose). |

I installed my JB4 @ 1200 miles. No need to wait.
