PeterWT,
In your spec you mention you have a drop in K&N Filter....I've been looking...what's the part number and did you see any improvements?

Dinan have to build the units in order to work properly and safely in all the offered modes even in the maximum boost mode (Race).

It would be good to hear reviews from other users who already received their Dinantronics Sport units.

I realize that, but I'm just a little conservative and prefer not to push it.

The K&N part number is 33-3051
The "sound deadening foam" is a piece of foam in the bottom of the stock airbox, that's held in place with 3 push in plastic retainers. I assumed it was there to deaden the intake sound.
I removed it when I installed my K&N filter, hoping that would increase sound and maybe airflow. I think my intake sounds better now, but I could be imagining it.

Got mine today and installed it and the app on my Android phone w/o issue.
Tried it in -3, 0, +2, and +3 PSI settings. No CELs!
Can't say I feel much of a difference between the settings w/ my butt dyno. I'm going to give it a few days and report back...

I used it in +2 for my commute today. Felt great. No issues.
I'll switch it to +3 tomorrow, try it that way for a while and post back.

Update on my Sport unit.
I tried it on +3 PSI, with the car configured as Sport/Sport. WOW! I felt the difference. FAST!
I saw a maximum of 24 PSI on the boost gauge at WOT at those settings. Still no CELs. Fingers crossed.

I see so much mixed results with this that I am too concerned to get this unit at this time. More DT sport user reviews would be nice. The Stage 1 seems too expensive for what I want it for. It's one of those things, the best is too much and the second best has issues...so you just end up doing nothing. =)

After living with my DinanTronics Sport unit for 2 weeks now and using it exclusively with top-tier 93 octane fuel on Stock, Sport (+2psi) and Sport+ (+3psi) settings, I can say that I am happy with the purchase and can confidently recommend it to others.

The pros are:
  • Hardware has good build quality
  • It uses 2 sensors instead of just 1
  • Install is easy
  • Android settings app is not elegant, but it works and includes boost gauge (better than changing settings manually on the hardware)
  • Measured on my butt dyno, power gains are noticeable and satisfying
  • Driveability is not adversely impacted on the settings I've tried
  • Bang for buck is good

The cons are:
  • It wasn't cheaper, or free
  • It didn't install itself
  • I will probably have to remove it every time I bring the car to dealer for service, in order to avoid potential warranty issues

+2 and +3 on 93 octane fuel are just fine. I don't really 'need' +4 and don't want to risk a stored code, because I don't have a tool to clear it.

Now that I've been using it for a while on both Sport (+2psi) and Sport+ (+3psi), I thought I'd post an update and conclusion.

Bottom line:
On the M240i, this unit delivers approximately 400HP and 450TQ (crank), OEM-like drive-ability, easy install & removal and Bluetooth app for settings change & boost gauge, all for $299.
I am very happy and satisfied with the purchase and think this is one of the best 'bang for buck' performance mods out there right now.

Any other updates on this module?

Any more CEL's? Anybody else been using/trying it without problems?

Have there been any known major issues to someone's car or warranty problems?

Thanks
