Misfire at 6500rpm - No codes thrown - Stage 2 BM3
Hi Everyone,
I've recently had issues with my 2016 m235i xdrive (94k) misfiring at high rpms. At first it was throwing a superknock - cylinder 5 injector shutdown code. I had all of the plugs (one step colder NGK), coils (Eldor) and injector 5 and LPFP replaced as well as walnut blasting done. Car is driving much better but still misfires on full load at high rpms randomly, and also when pulling out of the driveway after cold start on 1>2 shift. No codes are being thrown. Car has BM3 stage 2, AR design catted downpipe, VRSF chargepipe and secondary resonator delete, pump fuel (91 octane). Logs are linked below, any ideas what could cause this behaviour? Thanks for any guidance you can offer 🙏 https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=6392...729bf911e6209b https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=6392...729bf911e620a5 https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=6392...729bfbe96ae6cf edit: happens on stock tune as well. plugs are gapped 0.022 Last edited by Hatcher; 12-08-2022 at 11:22 PM.. why is your short term fuel trim maxed out at 0.7? enable and log LTFT to get an idea what's going on, maybe you have a vacuum leak.
cylinder 4 timing consistently lags behind all the others, try swapping plugs and/or coil with another and see if that's the culprit. maybe that injector has an issue.

Dude you have legit engine knock in your log and your timing is all fucked up, Preety bad. Whens the last time you changed out your spark plugs?

Plugs were changed right before the log above was taken. After the log above was taken I replaced the HPFP with a stage 2 Nostrum one and it feels like it improved things a lot but still misfiring same as before under high rpms. Still getting what feels like either knock or misfires today on the new log below:
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=639a...0b431774f989cb It is now throwing 1C3102 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor; plausibility; pressure before engine start-to-low Im not sure how to enable LTFT to check if there is a vacuum leak unfortunately. Any guidance is welcome 🙏 thank you. |
