4% - $500 cash buildout at the time (now 750) - $1000 option allowance that was available at that moment And didn't have to fight with the dealer as they were not doing more than $750 off MSRP in the area at launch |

If you're willing to hunt around, negotiate, and travel a bit for the car, you should be able to get $500 over invoice; that's a good target. $1000 over is OK; that's what I got (I loathe the negotiating process). The guys who really push and deal state they've gotten invoice or a little less, but that's uncommon.
I think price over invoice is a better measure of the deal, particularly if you're getting any port/dealer installed parts since they have a bigger invoice to MSRP range than factory options. Sites like Edmunds, KBB, NADA, and Consumer Reports (if a subscriber) can give you a a good estimate for your area since there's a lot of variability by region. Also, there's a whole pricing thread with this kind of info.

ED Invoice + 750
For my build, this equated to 12% off US MSRP, or 5.5% off ED MSRP.
+ Tax & DMV fees. Only other fee was an $80 doc proc fee. I did a lot of shopping and negotiation...could of got ED Invoice + $500 but I wanted to use a particular ED specialist and was willing to pay the extra $250. He is about 1.5 hours away, best local deal I got was ED Invoice + $1750. Its very important ED is done right as you'll have $3-5 thousand tied up in airfare and hotel before you leave. Hope this helps...good luck! |

Not sure. I was happy they could beat the $1000 USAA incentive. They also beat the APR I had with USAA as well.

I offered $500 above invoice and it's all good.
Then my SA tells me to take off 7% from the MSRP, which is fine by me. Even if my cost is $500 above a 7% discount, then that too is a very good deal. |
