I don't believe so. I doubled check after your post. They are not as bright as headlights and aimed lower.

I dislike all those LED light bars people install on their cars. Those are blinding.

Stock halogen headlight upgrade

Hi! I'm new here. (I apologize in advance if this is the wrong thread.) I just bought a 2014 228i 6MT. I really like the car but one thing that drives me crazy are the the stock halogen headlights. Has anyone here upgraded to xenon or LED from halogen? Just trying to get an idea as to what my options are. Thanks!

Ceramic Coated

I just used Adam's Ceramic Coating on the 230i and it is performing incredibly against the Northwest winter so far!

Did the alignment at the dealership. 3rd time in 2 days. They can't get the steering wheel to look the same direction as the wheels

Had dealer put on the snows and do the 25kish service. In and out in less than 2 hours. Pretty good time. I'm hoping having the snows on means it'll never snow, but I suspect that's not happening.

I did an OEM xenon retrofit on mine.....

It's not a simple plug and play. Shop needed to run a few wires that were missing and some coding.

And yes, the stock halogens have to go!

Lightwerkz will modify yours for about $2K to make them look almost OEM. That's an option if you can live without headlights for a few weeks

Front bracket in tow hole. Pretty easy except adjusting vertical for sensors. Easy to pop off for cleaning

Central Side Jack Points

I had central side jack points added to my car earlier this year. I've posted more detail in this Tracking/Autocrossing thread:

Since it snowed last night and was 17° this morning, I threw on the winter tires (Michelin X-Ice Xi3s) before driving to the dealer for an oil change under the car's maintenance plan. The dealership's utility power went out just after I arrived, so I'll be going back.

Playing a little catch up here. Got the car about 5 weeks ago. Since taking delivery, I've installed the M Performance CF Spoiler, M Performance CF Mirror Caps, M Performance Front Lip, M Performance Gear Shift/boot, and the IND Double-slat Front Grilles. Also gave the car a light polish and coated the paint/glass.

Fast forward to tonight, and I just dropped it off at the dealership to have the M Performance Exhaust installed. Big shout out to Brian at Sun Motor Cars BMW for the great prices on the last couple items. Wish I had reached out to him prior to making the other purchases.

Will post a couple pictures after I pick it up and give it a nice bath.

I was a block from my house when the "Refill Coolant" message appeared on the display, stopped and the car started smoking. I shut it off and noticed smoke coming from the engine bay and coolant all over the ground. Called BMW Roadside who towed it to my local dealer. While waiting for the truck, i poked around the engine bay, it appears that one of the small coolant lines that run across the front of the engine bay cracked and spewed coolant everywhere. Is this a common issue with the N55? Car only has 45k, seems a little early to be having cooling system issues.

Swapped over to my winter wheel and tire combo. FYI 17x7.5 BBS SR with Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3s in 245/45R17 fit great.

Replaced the engine air filter as well.

I think it's pretty common. Happened to me last year around this time with slightly higher mileage (posted about it as well). Search the 3/4 series forums and you'll see some threads about it.

Here she is - wish it was a little nicer outside so I could give her a more proper cleaning. MPE sounds amazing, too, btw!

Super Low mileage M235i in arctic silver/oyster

Picked it up with 7300 miles

Did a proper wash, clayed, Sonax iron removal, random orbital polish, wash etc.

Then 3 coats of Mother Ceramic spray on each of three successive days.
Water runs off it.

Also cleaned Oyster Dakota, with Murphy's oil soap and warm water diluted of course. Added WeatherTech mats and trunk tray...

Love the car, friend has same model with manual trans that I prefer,
but this one was too sweet to pass up...

Congrats! Great looking car in black. Can you give some more feedback on the MPE and how it changed the sound and/or volume of the car? From what I've heard from watching various YouTube videos, the MPE + midpipe resonator delete sounds like what I'm after, but I'm still considering doing the MPE first without a res-delete. I just don't know if it will be loud enough with the MPE only. Would you say installing the MPE made the car sound considerably louder from the driver's seat? If so, 10% louder? 30%? Thanks in advance!

Thanks!! From the driver's seat, it's only slightly noticeable. I'd say 10% at best. I didn't do the midpipe, so this was just the axle-back. Outside the car it is a bit louder, but the cabin noise reduction in this car is better than any other car I've ever owned. Cold start is a bit loud, obviously, but it quiets right down after warming up a little. I had a friend rev it a few times for me when I took that picture (first time I heard the exhaust note from outside the car), and I was in love. The rumble sounds amazing, especially when you throw in the crackle with Sport mode. Still can't believe the difference inside the cabin.
