Driving Shoes... hahahahaa.. seriously.

I did the obligatory forum search and turned up diddly, so if we've talked about it, maybe it's time again - though some would say it is never time.

I don't know if I'll ever need them, but I wanted some "driving shoes", so I was gifted a pair of Piloti "Shift" shoes for Christmas, and I bought a pair of Puma Neo Cat shoes just for kicks.

The Pilotis are suede (alcantara), and yes, they have a lip at the sole. They would not be the choice for serious 3 pedal driving. but... as a dad, I could wear them about and be no more awkward than I normally am. Pedal-feel is frankly amazing... not that I need that in an X3 m40i. I usually drive in Sandrock "sandals" which have a thin hard, flat sole. In the Pilotis, it is immediately evident if I am on the corner of the brake pedal.... there is just a lot more communicated than in the sandrocks.

The Neo Cats... I'm guessing is essentially a drift or speed cat. They are perfect, have no lip, and have an amazing heal-rocker. All I can say about pedal feel is that you feel the slightest touch under your foot. It's pretty cool. Too bad you can't just wear these around every day.

What are you gals/guys wearing for your weekend drives? What about track days?

Tried piloti shoes before and wasn’t impressed.
I prefer to wear Pumas. That’s what I wear on track days and when just driving.

ha... I appreciate the recognition and applause for my use of "than" to indicate comparison.

I was loath to buy the shoes with the BMW roundel on them, but all of the other options looked... worse.

The Pilotis look nice, but the Pumas definitely look cool!

Pumas for me. I’ve installed an aux left foot brake pedal, and thinner shoes are a must.

PUMA SpeedCat has been my favorite for probably 25-years. They came out with a remake of it called the SpeedCat LS and it is faithful to the original. I still wear my SpeedCat BMW/Williams F1 shoes, even though they are worn flat now. I have several pairs of SpeedCats and Future Cats and wear these nearly every day, all-day at work. The pedal box on my E82 6M is small for my size 11 feet and these work perfectly.

With SpeedCats it is best to go at least a half-size up from your normal shoe size, if not a full size!

Whoa, you mean all this time I've been wearing driving shoes and didn't even realize it? Was wondering why the heel was so high lol.

Came here to find this and was not disappointed. For 3 pedals, a thin pair of Pumas always gets the job done.

I had a pair of Piloti as well, because everyone swore by them. Was not impressed at all.

Since I am a barefoot enthusiast and pride myself in being barefoot as much as possible and wear barefoot shoes or sandals when venturing outside, I typically tend to drive and track with either my Vivo's or Wildlings as they have minimal sole, great pedal / road feel, wide toe box, and zero drop.
