If you want to get into track driving but don't want to trailer, this 228i is perfect-- handles great and quick but not crazy quick. Very fun car to drive and surprise faster cars.

Price Drop

Lowering price to $16,900 Can't believe this car hasn't sold! $7k in MCS 2WNR suspension, new brakes, Apex wheels, new tires, top shelf mods and a $15 new BMW engine with mods all professionally done. It is a super fun track weapon.

What happened such that the car needed a replacement engine? Out of warranty?

Don't know exactly what caused the engine failure at 65,XXX miles - that was before I purchased. Done in late 2020 so it was definitely out of warranty. The good news is its got a new BMW factory longblock, rebuilt turbo and much else including performance mods built by a stellar performance shop (AR Motorsports). So its pretty much a new, better engine with 6-7k on it. I'd rather than that than an unknown 75-100k motor.

Thank you. I missed that this has an auto instead of manual, though.

Is that good or bad for you? Personally I love this auto and thinks its perfectly mated to the 4 cyl turbo. Depends on what you like but it's quicker and never misses a beat on track or street (that rhymes!)
