Cancel !
If you want the top speed and staggered - cancel If you need inclement weather traction and square wheels are fine - give the car some thought |

The Track Your BMW page should read "18" double-spoke 436M wheels w/ mixed summer tires" if ordered correctly. As someone else mentioned, you will not get the staggered set-up or the top speed increase from 130 to 155 (iirc). I see 2 options: 1. Cancel and re-order or 2. Ask your dealer to put the staggered wheels on your car along with the PSS's and get a tune to eliminate the top speed limiter. Hope it works out.

This happened to my brother when be ordered his M235i, we were very clear we wanted summer tires. SA ended up selecting runflats because iirc summer tires aren't a selectable option, you just have to leave the run flat option blank or something like that.
He was able to get the dealer to give him summer tires, albeit run flats and on the same square setup, but it was better then ordering another car and starting the wait all over again. The whole thing is a real pain in the ass. |

Oh sorry. You're right then, for the M235i xDrive, selecting the mixed summer tires should give you the Michelins instead of the standard all-season runflats.
Maybe it's just a mistake on the BMWVIN site. Ask for a copy of the order and verify with your CA.

Mixed summer tires are run-flats.
If you don't want to push the issue with your ordering dealership and the fact that you are leasing it; consider buying performance tires and saving the run-flats for when you turn-in at lease end. So far as removing the speed limiter. Well, unless you are going to track your car, I doubt very much you will be visiting that speed limiter anytime to often. Even tracking your car would mean running something like a super speedway or something to get up to and stay in that speed parameter. However, if you really want to, it can be reprogrammed by an authorized BMW tech to the higher speed limitation.

jwr0721: just to make it clear, the X-Drive optioned M235i only comes in run-flats. You can option mixed summer or if not, it'll deliver all-season.

From BMW order guide:
2TR 18" double-spoke 436M wheels w/ allseason tires 258 Runflat tires 2PG 18" double-spoke 436M wheels w/ mixed summer tires 2PG will delete 258 from the order 2PG will add 840 to the order 840 Increased top speed limiter In my opinion, 2PG = MPSS, non-runflats and top speed limiter http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=991703 Until otherwise shown, OP wants 2PG which is checked on BMWUSA as "...mixed summer tires" Last edited by drexplode; 03-24-2015 at 01:05 PM.. |

drexplode: just to make sure, I'm been led to believe that by "mixed summer tires," BMW is indicating the staggered (front/rear) tire set-up of 225 and 245. And not the PSS run-flats which are ultra-high performance sport tires.

staggered as in different tire sizes front and back. Interesting because another car we have is a Quattro and that manufacturer only allows same size tires front and rear. Non run-flats but we have a full size spare with it. I run the Michelin Pilot A/S with that application.
