Forklift jack stands

I've been looking around for a new set of flat-top jack stands and came across this forklift stand which is only $67.95 for a pair: https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/m...00-lb-capacity They are rated at 13,000lbs each which is overkill, but it is a compact design and cheaper than Esco or Sunnex stands which are $100+ per pair. They weigh a ton at 29lbs per pair but in my book that's a good thing. Anyone have experience with these type of stands? The tops aren't completely flat, there is a very slight curvature but I have rubber jack pads which should work with this design.

*edit - Need to factor in shipping cost which for me is $25.95 bringing the total to $93.90.

Reminded me of the time I said I'd spent a year in Terre Haute, Indiana one (crappy) weekend!

Hmm, when I click that link it says $99.95 for a pair. Not sure where you are getting a discount.

I have a pair of the Esco jack stands. They are super nice. These forklift stands might be stronger, but I think the Esco stands are a better value.

Don't underestimate how nice the flat rubber top of the Esco is. You can put it right under the jack pockets without any worry about marring them. No pucks required. The wide rubber top makes them easy to place, with a good margin for error. And that same wide top means you can use alternate unofficial support points with little worry.

The three legs of the Esco also mean it's more stable on more surfaces. No rocking. And the wide stance is very stable.

Even the column pin on the Esco is nice. Like the forklift jackstands, the pin is on a chain. It also comes with a pin clip to keep the pin from ever popping out.

You are going to get tired moving those heavy forklift stands around. Light and strong beats heavy and strong for anything except an anvil. And you won't beat the construction quality of the Esco stands.

Just buy the Esco stands. You'll be happy you did.

Oh geez. Not sure how I stumbled into such an old thread. Usually don't click threads that aren't 'bold', indicating more than 90 days old. Sorry about that.

Still valid points on the Esco stands though.

The thread was reactivated by a junk post. You then posted.

This forum seems to be getting more of those types of posts recently.

I'm thrilled to think a new owner/member might actually search/add to previous threads vs. starting a new one asking a question that's been beaten to death!
