bootmod3

Hey fellow 2ers. I'm debating getting a tune for my car (stage 1) and just wondering if there's anything else I would need to replace to keep up with the power gains I will be receiving (such as suspension upgrade, brakes, etc..) please advise.

this is my first BMW and my first time and I'm completely lost and afraid of my dash lighting up like a Christmas tree.

Thanks in advance.

Wrap is sick bro get some goldish bronzish wheels and it will be fire. Car looks bad ass in green.

I would suggest as most on here if you upgrade your tune to replace your charge pipe before it explodes off and leaves you stranded on the side of the road in the rain late for a buddies wedding.

This actually happened lol its worth replacing. While you are in there do a $200 Gplus stepped intercooler.

I had stage 1, intake, charge pipe and intercooler on my other N55 and the power was godly.

I'll have to second the charge-pipe motion - although, I was driving around for months on the Boodmode3 E30 tune before blowing my charge-pipe up. However, I think it should be done immediately.

Yep, you'll definitely want that charge pipe upgrade. I don't think a week goes by where there isn't a customer email me, "Jeff, I need a Charge Pipe ASAP, mine blew!"

Any suggestions on which charge pipe and where to buy?

VRSF makes a good one. I blew my stock CP and a local indie BMW shop had a VRSF upgraded one in stock!

I have another sorta related question

I'm looking into either a remus catback or ark performance catback. both are around the same price. anyone have any take on them? this would be pre-bootmod3

REMUS is the best sounding exhaust in my opinion. It brings the perfect balance between deep/aggressive sound without being obnoxiously loud. Zero drone and you get to keep the stock valves for better sound control.

good. I think I was moving towards remus anyway. just needed a push. I'm trying to get a deeper burble out of my stock setup before I get a tune.

Mods are never 1:1 if ever reselling, or demod and sell separately. So I don't know if I would ever pay interest on top of that. Just my $.02

Pay straight up... Because the universal rule applies!

You gotta "pay" if you wanna "play"
Lol

I never look for all my money back on anything used, why would my exhaust be any different. I would still be paying to play just in a way that won't break the bank. You have $1600 plus tax and shipping u wanna throw my way?

Replace your Charge Pipe prior to flash the car. In my case I did first the flash and then in my first test run, I drove literally 2 blocks away from home and the CP exploded which ended damaging my TMap sensor too. I afterwards got a VRSF CP and a FMIC installed VRSF as well, both of them perfect!

I suggest you go with a Downpipe first instead of an exhaust. DP either high flow catted or catless + flash tune = exhaust sound improvement. You will notice that with a DP, your exhaust will sound waaaaaaaay better and performance will noticeable be improved.

I had vrsf, it rubbed up against my steering wheel and eventually made a hole. Happens to some people I've heard but not everyone. I'm going with ER probably next.

I also have the vrsf charge pipe and I did have interference with my steering rack. I felt it in the steering wheel while driving. So I loosened the clamps on the silicone hose and twisted and pushed it as far as I could then tightened it back up. No issues since.
