How about coding the F-22 Raptor sound in an F22?

Yeah. Maybe that's too much to ask.

This is truly pathetic.

The right thing to do is code all active sound off. BMW and fake in the same sentence.

If it was cheap, I'd do it for the novelty and boredom lol. I've accepted my car is a poser in one way already, why not another?

My other car produces real sounds anyways.

This is a great day for posers...er...most current BMW owners, and for the poor people who can't afford the higher end cars but like to think they do. Is there any way to stick the BMW grills and M badges on something like a Dodge Neon?

Soundracer is awesome. WAY cheaper than buying an i8 that comes with fake sounds too.

I really am enjoying this thread! Really drew in all the all the testosterone drunk I think I wanna be race car driver boys. If you want your car to sound like a race car and its possible to make it so...whether it be artificial or not...why not ? It is no more silly than buying a car because of the way it sounds.

Engine speaker sound is lame. Why would you want to trick your brain to think you got a different engine than you do? This is getting into ricer territory.

Stick with modifying your engine and exhaust system.

My perspective is Active Sound is just BMW trying to keep ever-more strict vehicle sound regulations from impacting the experience. Sadly the challenge isn't exclusive to BMW.

Just when I thought pumping a prerecorded engine soundtrack through the speakers was the most lame-ass thing ever, people find a way to one up me....omg this is just sad.

It's amazing that the very sound that so many complained about when BMW came out with active sound, is now what people want. This is why I don't listen to people whine about changes. And how BMW has lost their way etc. anytime you disturb the status quo, it seems to create a temporary uproar. I remember the uproar of the V8 in an M3 few years ago. Now so many wish they still had the V8 in the F8X.

I for one would like to hear the S55 in my M235i.

Apparently now cars are not shipped anymore from Bremerhaven and they are shipped from Haterhaven

what's the difference between doing this and changing for an axel-back exhaust that just changes the sound ?
i guess the coding is almost "free" and the exhaust is not....

I'm sure if you could code E9X V8 sound on the F8X... everybody would be doing it lol

I'm sorry, I am a huge fan of coding and there are some truly amazing coding options out there, but this is lame. It's bad enough that BMW models are having artificial noises being pumped through the car stereo, but this takes that to a new level.

Very intertaining! Its the way of the future! Big engines are going away. Smaller more fuel efficient is the future. Porsche is going to 4 cylinder turbos and the flat 6 is going away. I think artificial sound is a great idea to give you something that is going to be missing from the experience. The cars will still be fast just with smaller less noisy engines. Less noise polution is a good thing. Loud exhaust is obnoxious and screams look at me...very pathetic.
