Guys the fact your guessing at what the design looks
Like at this point is a class in futility !

Look at all the self tapping screws that are holding the fake panels on. I wouldn't be surprised if those exhaust tips are fake or even welded on differently to throw people off.

They spend lots of money on fake lighting and molded panels to make the car look a certain way just to keep you guessing.

Oh let's make the tips look like the Lexus F! That will get a rise out of people!

Hey we do it to when we camo cars. Keep leading the whiteness only for them to be completely thrown off at the reveal...... sometimes.... they control how much they want you to see ..... always.

This video is old but you get the idea.

Chances are, if the OG M8 went into production, it would of had the flip up headlights of the regular 8 series.
Would have been nice to see this car go up against the 550 Maranello.

Looks good! Enough of this "evolutionarily over revolutionary" apathetic approach, we have Benz for that.

Rattle the cage BMW!

I laugh when everyone here complains about the BMW designers leaving for Hyundai and such. They're probably having the time of their lives, they have true freedom of expression in design, not being contained or shackled to old design elements that keep them from being able to design freely, and good for the new ones that are coming in and are rebels changing the rules. It's actually the perfect scenario for both brands.

Must give a "F" for an EPIC fail to BMW design. It just looks like they're trying too hard to be different.

This is not BMW anymore this is TOYOTA. Look at the influence. BMW gives motors, and Toyota advices on design.

Now we have the rhinoceros/ train BMW. Hope everyone at BMW is happy cuz the last BMW I owned was the E46 after the F80. That was a BMW.

Well, your loss because regardless of how they look, these latest M cars are outstanding and very fun to drive. They still make performance cars and that goes with their tag line, the ultimate driving machine, not the ultimate styled machine, and I'm sure this XM/X8M whatever they call it will be a monster/bonkers to drive.

I finally understand what BMW is doing. Mercedes and Audi buyers are fed up of the derivative and evolutionary designs. Look at all the latest Mercedes. You need a hand book to tell what's what. They are all scaled versions of another model. Have you checked the last 3 Audi A5s? You can't tell which one is the newer or older. They are all so similar.

BMW is breaking from that and testing new ground. I give them kudos for that. Some might like this approach, some don't. But I welcome the idea of testing the unknown and seeing what happens. Why should Lamborghini and Ferrari be the ones to have all the fun?

If you don't like it, you can always get a 5-series that seems to remain tamed through the years.

That's not necessarily a good thing. E.g. Pontiac aztec

Lamborghini and Ferrari designs are good though, BMW designs are crap. Not just because they look ugly but because they are confusing. Bunch of different design elements thrown together rather than a single style. BMW is gambling with these new looks.

The same response the Urus got and it sells like crazy.

Integrating lights into the bumper isn't the point, it's how the design is implemented. 8 series is an objectively beautiful car. Some current BMW designs are the exact opposite.

BMW is teetering on the cusp of extremely FUGLY car designs with some of their newest offerings, and I really don't understand why. Seems like they're trying too hard to be edgy and unique and at this point the only people that will like this garbage are hardcore BMW fans, who think BMW can do no wrong. I really hope that's enough to sustain the company bc if this doesn't pan out, I fear some of their more performance oriented enthusiast cars will be the first to get axed.
