6MT sandy/ feels like shaving metal, shifter bushings?

Noticed 2000 miles (55k) ago that occasionally the shifter feels sandy like there is metal on metal contact while moving the shifter assembly anywhere, like the shift linkage is be abraded or creaking like old knees. This occurs in all the gears, in and out of gates, around in the gates, reverse etc. It is especially apparent on the left of the "box" if you move against that boundary either into the first two gears or inside either of them.

Seems to come on when I'm in city like traffic and not moving as much, as temps/speeds rise.

CDV delete already done a while ago, everything to do with clutch is working perfectly.

Trans fluid swapped to Redline DCTF 1000 miles ago. Better cold shifting and overall much nicer but still comes and goes.

Shifter bushings, syncros, overheating trans, etc?? Anybody else have this happen?

I will note it shifts perfectly without any problems, I don't think it's a syncro issue, and it doesn't make any sounds. Just feels wrong

Get under your car and make sure all these components are in good order. Something may be worn out.

All that stuff above is covered by the heat shield. Check the heat shield first to make sure you didn't run anything over that may have deformed the shield and causing rubbing. I doubt you got any large amounts of grit in there unless you were traveling through a lot of deep puddles and mud recently. It'll be hard to visually inspect anything below #7 as the drive shaft will be in the way from below. I guess try and get a camera in there to inspect those parts but my hunch is it's something inside the transmission. You could always see if there are particles in the transmission fluid $40 of fluid isn't that expensive in the grand scheme of things IMO. Good luck
