Alignment
Hi friends,
Car just turned 50k miles. never been aligned. Car drives straight. No uneven tire wear. Should I leave well enough alone, or get an alignment? thanks |

leave well enough alone. When you get your next set of tires consider if the price of an alignment is relatively cheap insurance in relation to the expense of the new tires.
As for checking tire tread wear, I'm curious if when the car is up on a lift and you observe the tread while you spin the tires, if that inspection picks up wear a static view won't show. I do think a yearly service inspection of the car up on a lift is smart, in that inspection a good BMW familiar tech will check certain suspension bushings (as well as leaks and other damage ) |

It doesn't sound as though you need to be concerned.

I seem to be of a different opinion here. granted the car may run straight and tires wear evenly...I don't think that alignment devices, specs, and service are a racket created by dealers and car manufacturers across the globe. if you put 93 in your tank and do oil changes early to take care of the eng you might as well get it aligned and take care of your suspension and handling. take care of your baby.

I agree with @delvec03 but I also agree with the previous posters. If tire wear is even, and you don’t have any specific alignment needs. I would wait and do it right before or after you get new tires, or change a suspension part.
That being said, my car is 53k miles in and I got it aligned probably huh…3-4 times |
