What tint do you have?
Getting my car tinted with llumar ceramic next weekend. My car is alpine white, and I think a pretty dark tint is going to go great with all the black trim on the car. I was considering getting my windshield done in a lighter shade. It’s illegal here but I know a few people have a minor tint to their windshield. I live in North FL, so the heat rejection would be nice all around.

I have Photosync. It was put on my car before purchase, so I can't speak to the price, but it's worth it here in Dallas (equally I'm sure for anywhere in Florida). Anything ceramic and above helps (and darker tint isn't always better from what I've heard).

I just recent did Pinnacle 30 up front/sunroof, 15 rears, and AirBlue80 on the windshield. ~$700 from a high-end shop in SoCal. Completely worth it. The AirBlue80 is clear and still provides ~50% heat rejection.

I've had 20% on my past cars but always wanted a little bit darker but still able to see during the night.
Luckily I was about to get formula pinnacle tint at 15% and love it. |

I went with 5% llumar ceramic on all side windows and rear, 70% on the windshield. It's daaaark AF. I may have to go back and have them do 35% on the side windows, that was the only other shade they offered. The windshield is great, I wanted just a little protection. The 5% looks great from the exterior with the black trim, but I think it's too dark to drive at night.
Initial quote was $280, went to $340 after I requested windshield. They didn't want to talk about windshield over email. |

tcollier91 how did it end up?
I recently had Llumar Pinnacle installed. Happy except the rear windshield tint is creating an awful effect at night where headlights illuminate every thread of defroster wire. In other words, rather than see just the headlights, I see a reflection in each of the defroster lines. I've had tinted windows before but have never had this happen. Has anyone experienced this or have suggestions? Example from my car but very similar: |

I'm 35% Ceramic all the way around. I've had darker and it's hard to see out at night. I just wanted enough to keep the interior cooler. It looks dark at that angle but it's really not that dark.

I have Stek NEX ceramic with 5% all around and 50% on the windshield, visibility is amazing from the inside out ans the windshield just cuts the glare and keeps it cool inside [IMG][/IMG]

I've got 20 Ceramic all around and then the entire windshield is 35%. The windshield is a huge advantage to me but you need to be careful about doing it and understand the consequences.
