Overall, the prices are the same between the two cars and the Stang is a faster/better performing car, but the M235/240 is athletic, elegant, has German attention to detail, and is somewhat rare/different/turns heads (compared to the billizion Stangs you see daily). It doesn't take much work to get an M235/240 to hang with a Stang, even the newer, more powerful Coyotes teamed with those ill-shifting 10 speed autos. Ford/GM (they co-designed the 10 speed auto) still couldn't get it to perform remotely close to the ZF 8AT in terms of overall performance; not even the same ball game. If you want to run 11s in a 2 series, it's simply a matter of getting an X Drive ,adding a downpipe, flash tune, intercooler, and some ethanol. With that said, it's not what these cars are about.
This M240i X-Drive is seriously capitalizing on its 115 MPH trap speed. 11.58 is stout for that trap! Just has a Dinan piggyback, HF catted DP, intake and mid pipe. And let's face it, the last two mods are lucky if they add 7-8 whp combined.

Do it. It is worth it.

One day maybe a Dinan Stage 1, but wife would flip out when she "notices" the mod.

Stock here except for a CAI. I plan to keep my 16 228 and don't want to risk engine damage. It is more than enough for me as I am an old guy and never owned a car this fast.

The price for the Dinan upgrade is a bargain for the HP gained, but there has to be consequences to adding 100+ HP to a stock engine.

^^

Consequences? More frequent plug and tire changes. More shit-eating grins. More need for a Valentine One.

Something to look forward to, although not sure I have the discipline to stay out of jail.

AWD auto has got to be running around 3.5 sec to 60 on a bad day.
