They didn’t offer it but given their silence and non defense to anything… Probably. The installer just said yeah you’re right.

The manager didn’t say much just took pics and said yeah needs a full reinstall, so…. probably……

Id probably try to get a full refund. And have you looked at any other installers? Was Chicago Auto Pros an option?

$14k wheew!! And I thougt my area was alot of money. I would find someone that people use thats local to you maybe yelp reviews, combined with other G8X peoples reviews.

Teslas are huge on getting their cars PPFd. Id even go as far as asking someone from a Tesla club.

Mine was roughly on par with OP's in some ways, lots of bubbling, but now I need to go check my headlight seals and shit. Didn't even think to look at that.

The shop took the car back and redid all the work though and it wasn't anywhere near that expensive so I can't complain too much, but...yeah. First pass was pretty bad.

I’m scared to let them touch it again.

Fair enough. I had my reservations but also the confidence that with as many Lamborghinis, Ferraris, etc were in the shop, my car was in good company and they'd make it right - one way or another.

100% take it back and full refund. I wouldn’t trust them to take it off either. Sorry that happened. Brutal on their part.

That’s really solid advice on the Tesla route. I would try that OP.

I was going to recommend Chicago Auto Pros. $14k is wild. The best of the best jobs are around half that.

Hey I own a detail shop in the Chicago area and would love to get you squared away. Sadly that is a very poor installation. But it would have been more with disassembly sadly. Most shops won’t take the car apart due to not having experience and wanting to deal with a other headaches. I spent 15 years as a auto tech before I opened a detail studio so I have plenty of experience In that area. Would love to take a look and do what I can to assist a fellow BMW Enthusiast

Op, get your money back. At this point with that shit quality of a job, my level of trust to have them touch my car again is a big fat ZERO!

With that type bread they charged you for that job, they had only one assignment which was to get it right on the first go, and they failed.

They’re suprised I won’t let them touch the car again. They said they respect my decision to go elsewhere and that’s it. I just want my car done right and to finally enjoy it!!! Especially with spring/summer right around the corner.

A little humor, the panels are failing even more so now. I sent them to a friend and his response was “now it just looks like they’re trolling you” 🤣

I don’t appreciate the shop telling me when I left I did mention all of this stuff, which is only half true. The tech told me all this stuff would resolve etc. and the level of peeling 3 months in is absolutely bananas. Example, tucked edge on the trunk…

Also that uneven cut on the roof, vs the other side they tried to tuck it and it’s not even holding.

Wow. This is the result of someone watching a TikTok and thinking "I can do PPF!" I paid $10k for my 2019 to be bulk wrapped. Only thing he bulk wrapped was the hood. Did a job on par with all of the images on this post. Horrible. Tears, bubbles, uneven cuts, edges lifting, etc. Did $5k damage to a brand new car. Pressed in the speaker grilles on the B&W front speakers. Left the bumper hanging off a few millimeters (his excuse that it was "within tolerance"). Left door panel literally hanging off; you could put your whole hand inside the door. Rocker panel not reinstalled properly. Just all kinds of garbage. Had it nearly a month the first time. Took it back and he had it a few more weeks to produce a mediocre wrap, but he did nothing for the damages. Said he'd make it right via email, which I'm sure he regretted, because that was the proof I needed to successfully dispute. He tried to say I was trying to rip him off during the dispute; it was unbelievable the lies he fabricated. BMW service department manager stepped up and wrote/signed a letter about all the damages and that they were done by the PPF installer. Bank clawed back the money for damages at least. This guy came highly recommended by multiple people. Total con artist and apparent drug addict. Completely ruined new M5 experience.

They’re definitely trolling at this point. That roof… It’s an easy panel to do and look how off center it is, edge coming up on 1 side, edge 1/4 inch short on the other.

Lol.

After looking at your pics, please leave a nasty review of the shop after your funds is back in your possession.

The trunk is just absurd!

There has to be some level accountability on the quality of service they provide.

Unless they ceramic coated it I didn’t. They should’ve prepped it anyway, right?. The car was taken to the PPF installer a week after delivery.

Man, that is shameful.
It looks like they used a pre cut pattern for your car and didn't bother lining things up.
That's the real problem with precut PPF, an experienced shop would start with full sheets then cut to within an 1" around the the panel they are working on. As more of the water and air are pushed out only then will they do the final cut around the outside edges.

If done well you should have to look closely to see the edges of the film.
