Hi all,
Just thought I would share how my Front 8.5 & Back 9.5 sits on my stock M240i in Mineral White.

Personally I think it sits greats with no rubbing or knocking. I was planning to lower the car but after changing the alloys over, it seems like I'm happy with leaving how it is.

Tyres fitted are 235/35/19 et40 at the front and 255/30/19 et45 at the back. Michelin PS4s.

Suits the car perfectly with the Mineral white paintwork and the carbon lip spoiler. Yes they are reps

How do you like the MPS 4 S tires? Do you notice much difference in comparison to the MPSS model? I realize that they are a larger size so presumably that makes a big difference also.

I am hoping someoone can help me. I apologize upfront for the lack of knowledge here but I am new to this whole thing.

Current Setup: I am running a 2017 M240i x drive with 18" standard wheels and 225/40/18 on all four tires.

Desired Set up: I am looking to get 19" wheels but DO NOT want to make any modifications to the car (lowering, or use spacers etc). I am looking at either the ones in the photos OR most preferably BMW 624M Replicas. Size quoted is 19x8.5x35ET.

What Size Tires can I use to run these?
235/35/19 seems to be the most common recommendation.
Any others?

Would i run staggered tires or the same size wheels?

235/35/19 tires on 19x8.5 ET35 wheels will most likely rub the front fender. Keep in mind that the ideal offset to fit a 19x8.5 wheel in the front with a 235 tire is ET 42.
Have a look at this site it shows the wheel sticking out 23mm more than stock...which is a lot, plug in ET42 and that will shrink to 16mm.

Also something to consider is scrub radius, with your proposed 235 tire and 19 x 8.5 ET35 wheel, wheel-size.com shows a 9mm positive scrub radius (check at the bottom of sites page). Many people don't even take into consideration scrub radius when they add spacers or change to different wheel offsets. Here are two videos explaining scrub radius.

Looking through the threads there are many people with 35 offset on f22, and many BMW19" awheels come in 35.

You could run 225s, people that are running 235s must be altering their fenders or are doing other mods to add negative camber. Maybe it will work with 235s, if it doesn't it's an expensive mistake.

235/35/19 fits with issues when on stock suspension and the right offset for the wheel size. I'm running 235/35/19 8.5et39 and no issues with rubbing at all. Could also do et40 if you can find a wheel with that offset or use spacers.

8.5et35 will work in the front with a 235/35/19 tire. Just know that if you're turning hard or compress one side more than the other, you might rub then only because you have ~6mm of poke outside the fender and the camber caused by compression isn't enough to clear the inner lip

Yes it would. The rear would poke about 8-10mm at the wheel (not the tire).

Little offtopic here but how can you run two different sizes on a 4wd car?

If I had 4mm more wear on my GTR in the rear the atessa system goes nuts. Is xdrive somehow only working against abs sensors?

AWD systems have a tolerance. The stock staggered setup is like 1.3% difference. The 235/265 setup I'm running is .8% (or something like that. Don't remember off hand) so I'm still within it's tolerance.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I am experiencing issues with 19" CSL rep tyre fitment - my 9.5 rears have 265/30 fitted without issues. However, two separate fitters could NOT fit my 8.5 fronts with 235/35.

The tyres I have are Toyo Proxes Sport, fitters have said they've never experienced issues with 19" tyres failing to fit 19" rims, there was about an inch of rubber still to stretch over the rim. One tyre split and damaged my rim (tyre was replaced and rim refurbished at shops expense). I've been advised of trying different tyre sizes/brands with softer rubber - maybe Michelins.

So my question is, what would you recommend OP? Your tyre fitment is fine, yet I'm experiencing far too much issues - could this really be due to the Toyo tyres being too hard/resistant? What tyre size should I be looking at for ease of fitment?

I would look for a better tyre fitter, generally the big chain tyre fitters are not very competent in my experience. A knowledgable specialist wouldn't attempt to fit a tyre that is incompatible with the rim. 235/35-19 on 8.5" wide rims are the ideal size. If the fitter doesn't have the right equipment to back-mount tyres (i.e. they bead-break & mount from the front face and risk wheel damage, as opposed to using a compatible machine from companies such as Hunter), I would find one that does.

Thank you so much for this comment! I was driving myself crazy with this, I'm UK based and Kwik Fit (big chain) actually did split a tyre and in doing so damaged my alloy, they replaced the tyre and refurbished the alloy (looks brand new).

The other tyre fitters (independent in my area) I told them about rear mounting, and they just flipped the alloy on their machine, I guess I'll have to do some research into tyre fitters, you've restored my faith in my tyre purchase!
