Very interested.
Been thinking the AA was the only no CEL guaranteed option.

Same. I was planning on getting the AA catted DP but then saw this so im kind of intrigued now.

What's the the pros and cons of getting this one over the AA?

Only one I think of is the diameter, AA is 4.5" and MST is 6"

Will it be that big of a difference or will I just get more sound with the larger diameter ?

You get less exhaust turbulence immediately out of the turbo but the gains are probably more noticeable on an upgraded turbo. You'll run into diminishing returns with a stock turbo.

From what I have seen, the only pro is that this product's retail price is cheaper.

You won't see any power difference vs AA on the stock turbo, maybe on the upgraded turbo but no data out yet.

The Pro of the AA is that it's more proven without thousands in use for years; in the very rare occasion you get a check engine light, AA stands behind their product and will replace the downpipe.
Also, AA uses EPA-approved GESI cats. MST does not release the cat used in their downpipe.

Novice question
What does GPF vehicle stand for ?
Starting to build the mods for a 2017 M240xi
Want it neighbor/ hospital friendly And then want it to sound great out on the back roads

Considering mating a catted down pipe to a BMW performance exhaust
Thanks

It's a Euro thing with an extra sensor in the downpipe.
US cars don't have to worry about it.

Upgrading the downpipe to high flow catted will keep it neighbor-friendly, especially when you still have the stock exhaust and the valve control feature.

Once you disable the cold start (any tune can do this) noise isn't much of a problem from the DP. It adds some sound/volume but not at puttering through the neighborhood

No issues except bad gas mileage until the cats are warm.
